I pick them up at the shop

;) You, sir...have gotta be loving that !!!

An hour after the SNS package arrived......some Starline goodness showed up. Glad to see both businesses filling orders so swiftly.

Hope they are both thriving and remain that way.

Have any of you used small primers in reloading your .45acp? I taught myself using large primers and never looked back. But had a load of fired 45acp brass with small primer offered to me (yep I take anything gun related and free as an automatic YES, please.) I understand the loading technique difference when working with both types of primers, but wanted to know if anyone had experience with small primers. I would lean towards using any knowledge out there when it comes to reloading, as lean times call for open minds and the ability to be flexible (if small primers are all I can get, lol, and I can reload .45acp with them...I'm in, if its worth it.) I've already learned a web lesson, keep large and small primers far from each other and not even on same work bench, and just load with one or the other just in case a large primer mixes with small ones and you try to fit it in a small primer pocket.

Perhaps there is still hope for others as well.

I have yielded to the forces who do not see Small primers in a 45acp or a 7.62 X 51mm cartridge as a good thing.
Using a Magnum Small primer does not = a Large primer it's simple physics. It's still about small vs. large &
in a perfect world you would have only SP cases & primers, & not have 2 worry about mixing problems.

All in all it's your choice. Good luck with it & keep us posted. ;)

Nothing will jam up a Dillon 650 like one small primer brass cartridge being mixed in with large primer brass . As careful as I am , it still happens occasionally . I buy used brass every now and then , and have to sort thru it , but once in a while one slips by .

That's why we reload .
I will melt lead scrounge brass, & barter primers before I pay these banditos ripoff fees for factory ammo.
Some folks are buying this over priced ammo? Who?

It's a fact we can take a 7.63 x 51mm IMI Match case & deburr the flash hole, uniform cut the primer pocket, Fire form
& neck size only. Using a Sierra 168 gr BTHP, Federal 210M primer, AA 2520 powder, I can easily beat any Federal Gold Match
round for accuracy & reliability with my custom loaded Cartridges.

With a Dillon 650 you can load custom rounds for the 1911 that will outperform the factory loads & we loaders all know that to be true.
I hope we all learned from this again. Do not trust the Firearms & ammo Manufacturers to have your back when it comes to the 2nd amendment.

When you can get into reloading do so & then stock up just what you need & lots of it.
Once again American Firearms & ammo Manufacturers have bent us over the log, true fer patriots.

As for me I will be watching the S&B & other non American Ammo makers & see if they too are all about screwing us.
First ones to bring back cheap primers gets' my $ & support, the so called American Mfr. have shown where their true loyalty lies.

Ammo companies are "for profit" corporations . They will always charge what the market will bear . The only thing that brings down prices is competition and supply being greater than demand . From what I heard today , Biden imposed sanctions on Russia , stopping their ammo from coming in to U.S. . Thus , eliminating some competition . With everything going on now , why on earth would Biden do this ? Oh yeah , I remember , he's a traitor for sale to the highest bidder .

In my mind if I had 3 times the Porsche trafic I could handle, well sir I would build, buy, or rent, a new bigger shop
& hire 5 new wrenches to get her done. That's just looking at it as a large money making opportunity
by a Mechanic, not a WOKE Ceo.

Common sense dictates if you have more sales than you can fill, you build back better, bigger, bolder, just
as any smart businessman would do in any country. The excuses told to us do not square with the past about
US ammo factories & what they did to help with ammo shortages in the past, like WW1 WW2 Korea, Vietnam etc.

President Trump ordered massive inventory of armaments & somehow the same ammo makes did their duty
and filled it.
They are gouging us for massive profits & to think they will stop anytime soon is pure fantasy. If we were smart
we would just quit buying, however that's not going to happen either. I know if I could get a fresh 1K of primers today

I would at least look yet like the box of 50 PMC 45acp 230gr ball for $115.00 I would probably just pass.

Yeah , I bought some things today I don't need , but were available . They weren't primers . This crap hit so hard and fast , it shocked people and I don't see it ending any time soon .

Blue Bullets Company just got an open order filled & delivered to me of their coated lead bullets.

They seem to be taking 4 weeks on orders. Their packaging on this current order is far better than prior stuff...which were mostly sealed plastic bags in a box. I really like the new method. Hopefully it's how they will roll on future orders.

Three of these in a single box made for some deadlifts getting it in the house and into place, lol.

Gentlemen, I decided to buy a press kit a while back. I bought an inexpensive single stage Lee model. I haven't bothered to unpack it yet because I have not been able to find everything I need to get started, especially small pistol primers.

Have any of you found a source yet? I included a photo of the kit I bought. Please share your opinions.

We just got a new Noe 4 cavity 155 gr 9mm mold swcrn to try that will be this weeks project to cast some and load and test them, probably start with 100 or so cast and loaded to test. I will need to see the actual cast weight before choosing a powder probably klean shot or wst as it worked so well with the 150s'. If these work well a loading day will be coming very soon dictated by the temp outside triple digits is just to darn warm in garage to load, my son showed up this week with garage sale primers and some 45 ball at $10 box we will load him a 1000 or 2 of these for his 10" AR 9mm. I started casting in the 70s' reloading also and never stopped, the only way I have been able to shoot as I do.

I still do not understand those as we did see all this shortage of components coming and did not act when they could do so we even advised them to buy all you can they sure could have but did not now moan and groan over lack of components and want us to sell them some, NOPE, we will possibly trade some but they have about zero trading stuff. I did trade some powder and small rifle primers sometime back with other shooters but now keeping what we have, we tried to get several others in on our primer deal last year in Feb to get a 100000+ order for huge price break and free ship and hasmat but they never committed any $$$ so we forgot them fast, we are well stocked but our friends could have been also but just would not join in seriously, I just tonight got a call from one we asked to loan yes LOAN some primers, they did not like my terms really do not blame them and said that to them.

It's hard not to think of those who did not heed the world reality & did not stock pile should just suffer.
However I was reminded just today again when a young father of two came out to sight in his AR with very
little expensive Mil surplus 5.56 ammo.

What could I tell him? He was too young to remember the Klintons gun & ammo buying panics  that bunch set off.
Get into reloading, you can find tools, bullets, powder, cases, but No primers are for sale, to bad.

Buy surplus ammo Bulk buy, like my 1000 rounds of S&B 45acp 230gr Ball FMJ for $280.00 to my door check the
price now if you can find it. Over $600.00 for 1000 rds of Surplus Foreign 5.56x45mm NATO junk ammo.

Its easy to feel sorry for the less fortunate, however answer this. When will an inexpensive source of Primers
& Ammo become available to you & yours in the not to distant future?

I was told tonight I was trying to take advantage of the person wanting sp primers he asked for1000 my terms were 3000 primers in return PLUS $300 in cash to keep until primers returned to me, after a year cash is mine I really did not wish to do this but he just kept on talking so I stated my terms and after a year you still owe me the primers, then I said I don't wish to do this and do not advise you to either. Finally mad he hung up thankfully. He will call back soon I know him well.
