There used to be a radio station that played this song every year, but I can't remember if it was on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas. Good times
Great song, more relevant today than when it came out. I was in a bar one night and they had karaoke. A guy sang this song, and I swore it was Barry McGuire. Sounded just like him. I remember that song from 9th grade, that would have been '68

I saw Bob on Guam in 68 a little island in nowhere, however I did dive the beautiful warm clear waters of the islands.
That man was so spot on. So far ahead of his time.

I know a gentleman who flew Cobras in nam back in the mid to late 60's. I remember my dad telling me that he'd said those mini guns could cover a football field with a round every inch on one pass. Now my memory is a bit hazy, but I di know it was something very akin to that. Amazing!
