Waiting period blues

Still waiting for my registration papers to come through and it seems like an eternity. How long did you guys have to wait for your piece and what did you do to help deal with the wait time?

Waiting for my registration papers to come through for my first gun. The revolver I had first ordered was out of stock and I wasn't told until I had been waiting for a month and called them up, so I changed my order to a 1911. Now I'm trying to track the progress of the registration.

I don't live in the U.S. though, but still lucky that we're allowed to own firearms in the Philippines, most Asian countries can't. Turns out the registration process is just longer here because of some extra steps, but it will arrive eventually. For now, I'll probably just try to get better at shooting using a rental at the range

Here in Louisiana we do not have waiting periods, you go to the store, fill out your papers, and if you have a clean record you walk out with your purchase after a brief call to N.I.C.S. If you have a carry license you do not have to wait on the call.

What state are you in? In California, there is a waiting period, but I was a cop for 32 years and could just about get any gun I wanted when I wanted it. Then, I retired and moved to another state and was floored when I could make a selection and drop the cash and walk out with a handgun. I love the idea of buying a new gun and going to the range right from the sporting goods store. I don't know where you live, but yep, there are states with benefits for the shooter.

Pathetic, should be little to no wait. I think Idaho may be too close to a Liberal State. Maybe some rubbing off?

I live in Pennsylvania, and I can walk into a gun shop, fill out some paperwork, and wait while they do my background check w/ NICS over the phone. If everything is Ok, then I can walk out w/ the gun. The entire process, once I have selected the gun, takes 15 mins or so. If I buy a gun at a Gun Show, the process remains the same, including the background check.

Sorry, i usually walk in and out of the police station so no waiy, if not 3 day maximum. With guns sales spiking lately like never before who knows, between two shops near me they've sold 900 firearms in the last week, up 500% Ammo is nowhere to be found.

I bought all mine during the Obozo Years Thank God I I don't have to put up with the Panic Buying today...
