guthrie, ok
Last Sunday in each month through October. Long range to 550 yards at 10" plates, short range to 300 yds at plates. Shoot either or both matches with any AR platform rifle 308, 6.8, 6.5 grendel ok.
This is a very informal match. Starts at 9 but show up later til maybe 11 and you can still shoot.
up to 20 sighters for each course prior to shooting for record.
Lots of fun.

I'm sure .223/5.56 is considered to be the standard AR caliber. He listed the others in addition to the .223

Too bad it's posted one day after the last Sunday in August.

How does this work? Do you shoot off a rest or bags or just prone?

Is it on the high power range?

yes, the overwhelming caliber is .223/5.56. Others are OK if on AR platform.
I posted the day after the August match as participation was very low. There was a weather threat but turned out to be a perfect day.
Am hoping this forum will encourage turnout.
It is always the last Sunday whether that be the fourth or fifth Sunday in the month. Go to www.okcgunclub.org for calender, etc.
The match is shot on the silhouette range, at hardened steel plates at ranges of 100, 150. 200 yards and 300 meters for the short range match. 200 yards, 300, 375, and 500 meters for the long range match.
There are separate optical sight and iron sight matches.
Shoot from a bench from sandbags, bipod, or any combination thereof or prone. A spotter will call out hits and misses, you may have your own spotter to spot shots, call wind, whatever.
Again, very informal and a lot of fun. Come on out!

any chance of having this on saturday instead of sunday? There are two or three of us, maybe more that could make a saturday match but not sunday due to church. thanks

Everett:
At this time it is going to have to be Sunday as the range is heavily used on all Saturdays by other matches and disiplines.
Hope you can still make it out. October will be the last match until next sprine.

Well, yesterdays match was very poorly attended due to rain in area and whatever other factors came into play.
Anyway, October match is canceled due to lack of interest.
When/if this is tried again next spring an attempt will be made to find a Saturday date when the range may be available
By the way, the conditions yesterday were perfect, no rain, no significant winds, perfect temps, etc. and the firing line is covered anyway.
