Well my no name twins have hit a small milestone. I bought these two within four months of each other. The first was the .38 super. The then .45 acp. Both optioned the same way. Flush cut /reverse crown barrels, round butts, flush cut slide stops and chamfer frame, gold bead sights . I shoot them often but typically 50-100 rounds per gun as I do not reload. I counted the rounds carefully at first but grew tired of doing that. Well I did some math and both these guns should be around 5k rounds. These two have been flawless with the exception of when they needed a recoil spring change. I really can't say enough good about these guns . I do not carry these as both of my carry guns are alum. frame. The melonite looks like the day I bought them. If anyone has considered getting a GI and is on the fence, I say do it. You won't regret it ! The left and center are the commanders. The right is my newest which is a govt. model in .45 acp.

I think a Guncrafters is next on my list.

After the current one and the one waiting after that.

Nice GI collection. I got into GI recently and have been thoroughly impressed with their fit, finish, quality, functionality, shoot-ability and customer service. These folks really know how to build 1911's.

Ya need a 38 Super next!

:p

You know I have a few already but no GC's. The Commander in a 38 super, 9x23, or 10mm would be a nice addition. May look at their website today and look at materials and finishes. For me the finish is a hard stop on a carbon steel firearm. Will not consider a spray and bake or an ambi safety. Would be interested to see yours if you have a pic.

I have seriously considered having a 9mm barrel fitted to mine. Cost is around $450.

Meh.........
Ive been thinking of sending mine back to the GI mothership for a few changes. Removing the magwell, installing a roundbutt MSH and changing the thumb safety and slide lock. I love the feel of the Harrison controls

Oh well no luck on the 10mm. Guncrafter does not do 10mm in a Commander and forget a aluminum lol they do not do those Told me they have enough issues getting the 10mm full size to run right. I completely understand. So back to looking at 38 Super which I am pretty sure I can find built.

The configurator will be fixed to take that option off shortly :)….

It won't.

Unfortunately, until we update our website (working on a new one currently), that is how it will be.

The rulesets will not let us make exemptions when certain options are selected.

This is what happens when smiths answer IT questions :D:D:D
