Hi Folks;

It’s that time again.  Looks like the weather will be alright, and I’ve got 7 stages planned for this Saturday’s match.  Allie â€" The Sand Witches â€" will be there with burgers for those who are so inclined.  Load some ammo and come to play!  We should start signing in about 9:15.

We’ll be setting up on Friday, starting about 1PM.  If you are coming to help let me know and I’ll let you know if there are any changes in the plans… Hey, it’s a great opportunity to add your “evil, sneaky, and under-handed” ideas to the final touches for the stages â€" they usually get “worse” as we all put our evil heads together.  J

Thanks!

where would one make the suggestion to do printed stage descriptions for each stage to avoid the 30 minute or so walk through?

you can email john bent... maybe you will have more luck than i did.. i asked them to do that about a year ago... maybe if enough people ask they will change... please everyone send emails, so maybe enough pressure we can get some change..

email address is [email protected]

That is Matt Johnson's email. Here is John bent's email. [email protected]

It would be just as easy to pressing the squad moms and give them the walk through during sign in. Heck it would be even easier if they would adopt the MatchRegister.com preregistration do all you had to do was show up, pay and shoot!

When's the last time we started at 10? I know its a big match and its all volunteer but when you factor on at least 4 hours of drive time hammer down at 10 would be awesome.

John or Matt need to explain the stages to each so some of you gamers don't think you can get too creative. Yes, a WSB would do the same thing. Well.....for most shooters.

So everyone must suffer because some guys game the poorly set stage and.or bad WSB? Sounds like China!

along with the fact even with the 45 min walkthrough i have seen people "game" stages, which was completely legal.... so just because you spend almost an hour in walkthroughs doesn't prevent gaming..

This match is nothing short of absolutely awesome every month!

I will be there tomrrow to help with setup and would also like the see WSB's if for no other reason than I can't remember everything for every stage. lol. The WSB's would make things much easier for guys like myself, especially when you get asked to run a squad from time to time. There is also no reason not to offer constructive suggestions and I've never seen John or Matt refuse to take good info under consideration, they are great guys and want to put on the best match possible.

The gamer = cheater discussion has been talked completely to death. People seem to have their own agenda on this topic. I am a gamer and I am not a cheater, simple...

Let me rephrase gamers again......nothing wrong with being creative, that's what I enjoy as well. There are chose who are cheaters and will do something, then say, they didn't say you couldn't. You all know what I'm talking about. Lets see how many of the posters on this forum show up tomorrow to help set up. It would be a good time for you to discuss you're ideas with John. Jesse, it would be a good time for you to also make sure their are no "poorly set stages", I'm sure John would love your guidance since he's so new at this. Should be near 100 shooters Saturday, sure hope the gamers don't bog it down. That's slowing things down way more than any walk thru.

I quite shooting matches when the sit factor gets over 1. Yeah sit factor. The time spent sitting on your ass and/or resetting divided by the number of stages. Here is the math. 9:30-5:30= 8/6=1.2 sit factor

SIT factor, that may be your best thought yet. I like it. Now all we need is to add an H and come up with one more calculation. Saturday's match is 7 stages so if we're done by 4 we got us a .85.

I need to retract this last post. I didn't quite shooting the match because of anything other than me not having time. I really just posted because I know Mike enjoys a good discussion with me online. (insert smiley here, they don't work on my phone)

Rusty is absolutely right! This okcgc match is the biggest and bestest match in the state. Once u get a taste of all that run and gun your hooked for life. I think we can all agree that we are all just trying to make a good thing better here with our constructive criticisms. The match has changed drastically in attendance since I first shot 3 years ago. However the way it's run is basically the same. If the goal of the club is to grow it even further we all need to think of ways to make it better.

What if the match ran Saturday and Sunday? How cool would that be?
