Need to shoot a 3 gun, in OKC area...

So, I am going to be taking a trip to the OKC area in March. Was wondering when the matches were in the OKC area, and if JT's offer to borrow a shotgun still stands. I don't own a shotty that would work, and figured someone might be able to hook me up.

I have shot carbine, and pistol matches, but never a 3 gun. The 3 gun in Tulsa is on Sundays and that doesn't work for me. So I'm looking for a Saturday match that hopefully some of yall frequent and will be at. Haven't met many of yall yet.

Hehe, won't be tomorrow, wife and I are planning a weekend away from the kids in OKC in March, sadly it may be early in March, so I don't think the 24th will work. What matches are going on earlier in the month? may have to just settle for a non 3 gun match, with some BoomerShooters though, so still a win.

At least 100 each for rifle pistol and shotgun. 5 each of slugs and buckshot. You probably won't use it all,but it's better to have too much than not enough.

Two each usually does the trick. Especially if you have higher than factory capacity magazines.

My Glock just has the stock 15 round mags, I have 30 round mags for my AR, I have 1 belt style mag pouch for them. I will get additional pistol mag holders. I have a thigh rig if I need more than a single rifle mag. Gotta find something to put shotgun shells in....

What ranges are we talking about for the rifle?

U can borrow caddy for your Shotshells. Max long range is 300 Shooting at 10" plates.

Oh snap... Haven't shot my AR past 200! This should be great! Any idea about mixing some of my good hand loads for the long range and using cheaper stuff on close in stuff? How much of each would I need?

usually you won't have more than 10 shots past 200, if that... (assuming you don't miss!!)

I run cheap ammo for the 3-4 stages that aren't long range and good ammo for the long range stage. I usually fill a 40-60 round mag with my long range ammo because those work best for support when I'm prone, I typically shoot 20 rounds or less.

Awesome! Don't be shy to tell me all the things I'm doing wrong! I get to shoot matches so rarely, I try to get as much as possible out of them. Something tells me I'm going to want a shotgun after trying this...

Shooting steel as fast as you can pull the trigger with a shotgun is second only to full auto .50.
