I looked at it and its tempting but I noticed it doesn't have the forward assist serrations my upper is set up with a forward assist, can you use that bcg with a upper that has a forward assist?

Yes you can use the bolt carrier. You just won't have a forward assist option, but do you really want to jam in a round that's not chambering properly in the first place? I know I don't.

Depends on what your using it for.

the area where the forward assist would be on the JP low mass carrier is reduced to make it low mass

If the low mass BCG is for a 3gun rifle as you described, you don't need forward assist. As Matt pointed out, you are only going to make a small problem worse on the clock if you use it. If the rifle is not for 3gun, then just use a normal BCG.

It doesn't matter if your rifle has forward assist, it won't effect the low mass BCG. Hit the forward assist all you want. It won't hurt anything.

Thats the info I needed thanks, my first time putting an AR together from parts and didnt want to assume. It does funny things to you and me.

So does the forward assist still hit the side of the lmos bolt and just not do anything... or will it not go deep enough to hit it period? I am going to order one from you soon tony and was going to plug the hole of the forward assist but if it wont go deep enough to hit the bolt then there is no use in doing anything to the forward assist but leaving it alone... just wondering

It won't go deep enough, but why are you gonna be slapping the forward assist after knowing it won't do anything?

It won't go deep enough to touch the JP low mass carrier. No need to remove it unless you want to.

I just didnt want to leave it on there if it would put dents in the side of the bcg or something, i am not the only person who shoots my rifle...

I would bet that 90% (maybe more) of people that have upgraded to a low mass BCG have left the Fwd assist parts remaining in their receiver.
