Which gun is a better overall competition gun?

Have you looked at the recent results in production At double tap? CZ Shadows have to start in double action and Matt Mink and many others seem to have no problem with the first shot in double action.

First shot for a CZ is a long 3 lb trigger pull. Then it's short 1.5 lb with a good trigger pull (with a good trigger job). I don't think the double action start has anything to do with the reason people don't like shooting Sigs.

I dunno, have you ever tried it? It's pretty weird. There are definitely some folks who can shoot a DA/SA gun very, very well, but it's my opinion that for a new shooter it's just one more thing to add to the Things to Master list.

The 226 isn't a bad gun, it's really not. The grip fits me well, they tend to be very accurate, sights are plentiful, and there is support for reworking triggers etc.

My problem is mainly that there are way to many levers on one side of the gun. The slide release is also right under my dominant thumb which is where I rest it when shooting a 1911, so it tends not to work when I shoot a 226. They also feel top heavy to me and I could never really get used to that, although I admit I didn't try real hard.

M&P's and Glocks fit the general use Hi-cap 9mm role much better, but that's just me.

As to the DA/SA thing, shoot a nice CZ trigger and form an opinion from there. They can be very sweet.

I can't recall anybody ever shooting a Sig in any match I have shot in, except Max Michelle.

Taurus shows up more often in matches than Sig.
