I am looking to get a .22 suppressor or two. Here's what I'm thinking. I would like to quiet down my Nordic NC22 upper and a nice Browning Buckmark or Ruger 22/45. Should I get one suppressor for both guns? The pistol will most likely always be run with a suppressor and may need to be carried in a holster or however you carry a suppressed pistol. Should I get a fully integrated or whatever you call it when the can and barrel appear to be one in the same? I know jacksquat about suppressors so any and all pics or advice is greatly appreciated.

if you want integral, sandharms is a great option for pistol

THOMPSON MACHINE is the way to go for integral rifle: see operative C (10/22) and operative B (mkii)

This one is hands down the quietest rifle with remington bulk pack

I went with the thompson poseidon

because it can be used with 9mm

or with .22

it has no first round pop due to use of wipes, but this is considered a drawback by many. It is by far the lightest 9mm can around though

You need to check out http://www.silencerresearch.com/ Its a pay membership site but its well worth the money if your in the market for a can. I ended up going with the SWR Spectre after reading their reviews. http://www.swrmfg.com/Rim-Fire-Suppressors/swr-spectre.html

JT- Jedi mind trick. It worked for Obi-Wan Kenobi.

You definitely want a separate suppressor so you can mount it on multiple hosts. If you want the quietest thread on .22 can, it's probably the AAC Element or SWR Spectre. The Element has a very low first round pop (FRP) if that's important to you. If you want the easiest to clean that's still almost as quiet as the Element and Spectre, I'd opt for the Silencerco SS Sparrow. It has more FRP that the other two, but I went with it because it's shorter than the Element, lighter than the Spectre, much easier to disassemble when dirty and after the FRP, and it's as close to as quiet as to not be discernible to the human ear. I eliminate the FRP with an over the counter nasal spray atomizer. Just give it a squeeze and it injects enough mist into the can to eliminate FRP, without being messy like running it truly wet.

Some excellent free silencer resources are http://nfatalk.org/forum/index.php and particularly useful is Major Malfunction's new website http://www.silencerforum.com/index.html

He's going to kill Titsworth's pay website once enough people find out about it.

This sounds like it might be the ticket actually. He has a Glock 17 and can just get a 22/45 or buckmark that is threaded and be ready with to go with both guns. Heck I might need on too.

Well, I'm just starting my paperwork for it, but next time I'm visiting my dealer, I'll give you a call and if you're free he'll let us take it for a test drive. Steve at cold hand arms.

I want to ride in your big truck! Assuming you'll pull up by a sport car with the passenger window down so I can spit some skoal on their hood as you burn out.

Jesse, I have a SWR Spectre and haven't been around others for comparison, but if you want to meet up sometime and put it on your Nordic, I be happy to do that. For rifle, would need to get some sub-sonic ammo.

I only have a Siq Mosquito that is threaded for right now. I plan to use it with a Nordic upper when the 2nd group buy goes through.

I am off most Friday and evenings would be good too. Let me know.

My father-in-law gayle is actually the one that wants to get the quiet toys now. I hotta wait for the bank account to catch up for mine.

So I will try to coordinate a Friday where we can meet at OKCGC, heartland or at our private range in Guthrie.

I'm a big fan of SWR suppressors and the .22 warlock seems to get the most use of the 3 that I have. Here are a couple of setups I have.

10/22 and 22/45 with VQ internal parts. The rifle is in a Mcmillan stock.

For a .22 LR, you want a take apart non-aluminum can. I have experience with quite a few.

The best out there are:

AAC Element (ultra light, ultra quiet)
Silencerco SS Sparrow (best take apart design available IMO, very durable)
SWR Spectre (heavy, incredibly overbuilt, your great grand kids will still be shooting it in 100 years)

Maj Malfuction has a bunch of decibel tests done on cans. But that is not the only thing you should consider. Ease of cleaning, weight, etc are all important to certain degrees.

Bolt guns are going to be the quietest option. You won't have any action noise.

My father-in-law bought a Sparrow. He is waiting on his paperwork. He also picked up a fully integrated 22/45 from S and H Arms. Speaking if which I need to check in these two items. It's been awhile.
