What are you doing with your group buy lower?

Yea but what does brass cased 223 cost. 10 bucks per 20 for the cheap stuff huh

Nope, I pay $6.24 including shipping for PMC per 20. When you shoot 1000's of rounds per month that means a lot more shooting. Now that my 650 can make 223 I am using preprimed brass and Montana Gold bullets for $4.73 per 20. That's less than half for you non math guys. ;)

p.s. the 650 is ready to crank out .40 ammo for a Glock too. Come on over soon. I think I owe you a few undred rounds and some more beers.

Yea much better. Guess I was thinking academy prices. Word ia black hills is gonna start making grendel steel cased ammo

That won't be cheap but it will be accurate! I wish SG Ammo caried Black Hills. Its my go to long range ammo right now. The JP/Swaro combo loves that stuff.

I shot some 55gr. Monarch out of your gun after the 3-gun match and was annihilating the 300 yd. steel. You should look into that stuff. :)

If your gonna shoot iron you gotta go 20" with a skinny front site post that sits right behind the comp. Pinto and Miller's rifles both have an extra groove cut in their upper's rail too Songhai can move the rear sight back an extra 1/4". Yep it matters that much. It's like going from a 1.25-4x to a 1-6x scope.

I was thinking of only shooting it at matches that allowed 1x optics in lim or had a tac non-mag division, but an irons rig like that sounds fun, too. If an extra quarter inch of sight radius helps that much, why not go with a 21" or 22" barrel? I could get a 24" stainless bbl chopped and threaded.

That's what I was shooting. I got it from Academy for around $5/box a while back when it was on sale.
It was alot hotter than the Wht box Remington that my rifle is used to.

Where you using the brass or steel case stuff? I have used a bunch of the steel for hoser targets but never really played with it's accuracy.

Steel. I really have no idea how accurate it was. What kind of zero were you running? I was holding dead center at 300 yards.

I think those fancy JP barrels are just flipping accurate with just about every kind of ammo.

I had the 55g brass cased, it was pretty hot compared to the WB Rem. I'd like to compare them on a chrono.

Dude a 20" is perfect but a 21" would be way too heavy and it would get hung on ports and doors during CQB stages. Lol!!!

I know I have asked Kurt and Mike why they don't run 24's but I can't remember the reasons.

I think the scope was dialed to my 200 yard zero with the 2670 fps 69 grainer so that 3055 fps monarch stuff was probably 4" low at 300. That 10" plate at 300 is a 3 MOA target too. Every rifle/ammo out there should do that. I laid down this little group at 300 with the Black Hills while prone on my bipod.

Lightweight profile w/ a carbon fiber HG wouldn't be bad. I wouldn't think that 1-2" would be that big of deal. My freakin' Rolling Thunder comp adds like a foot and a half and some serious weight, too. I'd use a shorter, lighter comp and it would be about right. I might do it just for kicks.
