What are your plans for your Spike's/PSA lowers?

I'm thinking of building a rifle for limited division (Mike P and Kurt need some company). I'm having a hard time deciding between a lightweight 18" barrel with full length gas or a 16" midlength barrel. Either way, it will look something like this. 98% fat free!

Do you guys think an adjustable gas block is worth it? I'm thinking I need to keep it simple...it seems like I've seen too many adjustable blocks go tits up.

I have a 7.5in upper that I will registering an SBR. It'll look something like this, only optics ready instead of A2.

I have an SBR. Honestly the only thing it does well is look cool. Wrestling with the idea of selling the upper to fund the other gun. If I could go back I wouldn't stamp it again. $200 is about a month's worth of ammo components. :)

I'm giving mine to my 13 year old niece and her 15 year old brother. I'll come up with "chores" for them to "earn" parts to build their AR's. Plus their parents and I are working out birthday presents for things like the barrel and the glass.

My SBR will be for giggles. I have a bad habit of building ARs and then selling or trading them. So when I register one I keep it. My wife is sick of my gun habit and tired of hearing me whine about wanting a 5.56 SBR. So here we go.

what's it doing or not doing?

6.5 Grendel Here too. I'm not sure what I want to do with the other. Maybe just build a regular AR For my lil sister.

Sitting in the safe while I shoot the other one. I should have said, 'the only thing it does better.'
ha, I meant what's wrong with it?
The wording in your post sounds like it won't run right.

What's the deal with 6.5 Grendel? I'm not familiar with it at all but it sounds intriguing. What would it be best suited for; hunting, plinking, 3gun?

I'll be using the Grendel for hog hunting on at my cousins place and long range steel bangin

If your gonna shoot iron you gotta go 20" with a skinny front site post that sits right behind the comp. Pinto and Miller's rifles both have an extra groove cut in their upper's rail too Songhai can move the rear sight back an extra 1/4". Yep it matters that much. It's like going from a 1.25-4x to a 1-6x scope.
I have nit had any issues with my adjustable gas block's that werent caused by me trying to get the lowest possible amount of gas I could. If you put about 3 turns and lock it down it will run just line a regular blickbonly less recoil. I don't think they are useful by themselves. You need the low mass BCG, lightened buffer, and monster comp to make the package work.

I'm gonna learn how to build a lower with my new Palmetto. I like Mikes idea of a iron sight gun. Now that I can see with my new contacts I owe it to myself to give it another try.

If your wanting to shoot to 1000 then a .260 Remington or 6.5 Creedmore would be better. But those are in the AR10 family. But 6.5 has the best BC to weight efficiency IMO. Im sure a Grendel can do it. I've done the research and seen where rifles were performing at .6moa at 550 yards. So I think 1moa is very possible at 1000.

elephant dung I was thinking Creedmore not Grendel. I will now edit my last post in a futile attempt to look less stupider.

Is the 6.5 Grendel ammo pretty $?
