USSA has a great facility, but it's been through some bad times.

The current owner is not a shooter(it's a real estate deal for him), and does not invest in the facility like it's really needed.

The range staff is very helpful, but the matches are set up and run by shooters. Unfortunately it's SOP to bring personal timers and staplers. There is generally enough tape.

It's not an ideal situation, but the members and regular visitors do the best we can.
As many matches as there are there surely they generate enough cash flow To keep them running with timers and such?

The place appears to have great cash flow. Membership is way up, 2500 members means 75k/mo in base fee income. Then add match fees, Training Group, weekly sold out CCW classes, bay rental(TDSA and others pay 300/day to rent a bay), pro shop, machine gun shoots, and the number goes higher. in addition, the owner just sold the north part of the Academy to the TCSO for 1.3m.

They only have ten full time employees(great guys) plus adjunct instructors(they get paid out of Training Group and class fees). Clearly they have expenses, but reinvestment dollars are not being allocated.

It's very frustrating as an active member to deal with deteriorating props, non functioning timers, instructors who don't have enough training ammo, and the like.

The best new development at USSA is that Brian Lambert has gone to work running the construction side of Steve Dixon's(the owner) commercial real estate business. Now one of our own has a direct line to him.

Classifiers? We don't need no stinking classifiers!

Brian, thank's for putting this match together. It was a lot of fun and that's all that really matters to me. I wish we could have stretched our rifles out a little bit further. I suppose we won't ever get to do the shoothouse again. Oh well.
It was great to see so many people out to shoot this match and just to watch. It looks like this 3GN thing is kicking up.
I don't think I've ever seen as many BS jerseys in one place, cool.

I was hoping to shoot a classifier so I could figure out if I am farking horrible or just plain ol' shitty.

I will be back down to the match again when I have the weekend off in my rotation at work.

I have found the classifiers and we will have one from now on. I will put out more information next match as far as set up, I need some help to set up if we want to continue with the match.

I would like to thank everyone for coming out and shooting. I am working on getting things better organized for 3 gun, and hopefully can get a few helpers for set up.

Again thanks and hope to see everyone next month.

Brian

What time would you need helpers to set up in the morning? I come from Stillwater but could get there to help set up on Sunday mornings.
Probably 830. 3 gun typically modifies the USPSA stages from the day before so it's not a full setup.
