This Sunday is the annual USPSA classifier match at H&H. I am still waiting for confirmation from Shannon to be sure but last year we could shoot 2 guns in the match. Sign in starts around 5:30. Range closes at 6:00 so be there before the doors are locked. Cost is $15 or $20 with a 2nd gun obvioulsy costing extra.

I'll be putting the finishing touches on the SS and starting a Revo classification. See you there.

Is this open to "unclassified" non- members? Can't make Heartland this month... but I need to get my "fix" in.

Anybody can shoot the match. You should sign up for USPSA now and get a couple classifications Sunday. That way you will be ready for the big matches this summer!!!

id like to shoot two guns... but if not that's okay as well, I understand that with a lot of shooters it would really drag things out.

I'm shooting two. I'll stay late to get my fifth and sixth classifications taken care of. There are only 300 or so USPSA members with all 6 and I plan to join them.

The OKC gun club newsletter says that this match will take place March 13. Can someone verify the date?

I emailed Shannon today about it. She is waiting on approval from the section coordinator before making it official.

Hi All,

I just wanted to let everyone know that this Sunday, February 13th, at H&H will be our annual special classifier match. We will shoot four classifier stages and all four will be submitted to USPSA. For anyone who is thinking about joining USPSA, this is a great time to do it, as four classifiers will get you an initial classification all in one match. You can join ahead of time at USPSA.org or I'll have forms at the match. As always, you don't have to be a USPSA member to shoot.

Sign in will begin at 5:30, the match will start as soon after 6 as we get set up. The first gun/division will be $15 and the second gun/division will be $10 (Maximum 2 guns/divisions).

The four classifiers will be selected from the following list:

99-19 Payne's Pain
99-47 Triple Choice
99-21 Minimart
99-22 Nuevo El Presidente
99-48 Tight Squeeze
99-61 Sit or get off the Shot
03-09 On the Move
99-08 Melody Line

If anyone has any questions, just let me know!

Hey all, sorry for the date change, since I talked to John we have had some issues here and thought it would be prudent to bump the classifier match up to this weekend. Hope to see you there!

Hi Shannon,
Since you asked for any questions I would like to know of the 4 classifiers being chosen from the list;
What does the list represent? If explaining it Sunday is easier I can wait.
Also I joined USPSA last Friday online but do not have any paper work as of yet.
Does that create a problem to participate this Sunday?
Yes this is my first competition and from the way I read it everyone is supportive of newbie’s, I hope?
Michael

Participation will not be a problem, just write pending in the space where it asks your USPSA number.
The classifiers are used to determine your skill level in that division (limited, revo, production, etc). There will be 4 stages chosen by Shannon from the list she presented. Everyone shoots the same stages. Your classification is determined from your 4 best classifier scores (not counting duplicates). If you have 10 differnt classifiers scored with USPSA, the best 4 are used. Sometimes you will shoot a classifier you've already shot. It only helps your rank if you do it better than you did before & the score can then be used as 1 of the 4 to determine your ranking. Rankings start at D & go up from there.

inital 4 classifiers... then it goes to 6...

from uspsa

This classifier was used when the last classification routine was run to calculate your current average. For initial classifications, the best four scores of the most recent six scores on file are used to calculate your classification. After you have earned your initial classification, the next time the classification system is run, your best six of the most recent eight scores on file will be used to calculate your current average. Because a Special Classifiers can earn you six score on the same match date, the scores are ranked in descending order by percentage to determine your most recent six or eight scores.
