Tri City May Be Building Berms and Joining USPSA

Back there where they keep the plate racks?

Not sure, I will let you know after the match on Sunday. i am planning on meeting with Al to talk about becoming a USPSA affiliated Club. I would like to get everything moving in that direction as soon as possible.

This should be fixed. I am doing all of the scoring and emailing of the results. You definitely will not be receiving anything other than the results from me. You may want to send him an email to remove you from his email list.

I did...About 5 times! I don't mind one occasionally, but I was getting 4 or 5 on some days. Finally just had to add him to my spam list. Joe, with you doing them I'm sure it will run better.

Good to hear that they are looking at getting sanctioned again. With the extra bays and sanctioning, I'd bet their attendance grows by 20 almost instantly. That will put them at a really good sized match and the extra bays will allow them to grow a good bit.

i believe they are planning to build them behind the current short and pistol ranges.

Ronny Robertson told me that they were planning to run a berm the full length of the long range on the south side of that road that goes down to the tall berm. And apparently they already have someone planning to give them the dirt from a construction site.

1+ for TCGC

As long as its the same weekend as 3MR, and 3MR continues to have a good 3 Gun match, well even though TCGC is close to me, I think 3MR still wins out.

Ditto. One gun is for beginners that haven't found 3 gun. We gotta get them started somewhere. It's nice to have options too.

But I'm all for TCGC improving and becoming sanctioned and all that jazz. More places to shoot the better!

Talkd to Al today. He is totally against becoming a USPSA club due to the economics of paying the USPSA $3.00 per shooter. He also stated that he spoke to several people and "they" are not interestes either. It was an interesting conversation that led no where. I give up!

Once the bays are done, I will approach the board and request permission to start a USPSA match. "They" can continue to shoot the old match and we can have a sanctioned match. What day do you guys think would work best?

Isn't the entry fee like $20 for their little 100 round match as it is? I'm pretty sure it was on the last one I went to, plus another 5 for the supplemental which was revolver and all of 5 rounds that day! A dollar a shot? Um, no thanks. And they can't stomach a $3 fee to pretty easily double their participation? LAWLZ! 80

I wish you the best and hope you can sell it. How nice would it be if you could get approval and have an eighty+ shooter 6 stage match on your 1st one? Also, If you could throw in a 3gun match occasionally it would be killer. Just sayin...

A good example of why I was a member for 1 year but couldn't stand Gene reading the rules to us out loud and 100 people lined up to renew while 1 person entered stuff on a laptop. Too bad since I'm so close but they have a leadership group very set in very old ways. They are making some physical improvements but are slow to make the change necessary to draw more action shooters. I guess they like it as it is. Power to em, there's other places to shoot.

this is exactly what i was going to say!!!

And here I always wondered why when I ask about getting a membership out there and EVERYONE I've ask about the club said don't waste your time I guess now I have my answer. They are pretty close to home but if they don't want to actually grow the club why waste my money as a member? not to mention hearing one person say a good thing about the place. Later,

Kirk

The price is $10 for the match, $5 if you help set up and tear down.

I think there is more to it than the "economics". I think they like the match small and do not want to grow it.

Yeah the old man out there wants to keep it small becausehe gets pissed if it goes past 11:30
I was at a match there one time where he bitched and bitched because he wanted to leave to go to golden corral and everyone else wanted to stay to do the supplemental. I haven't been back since.

Sounds like your going to need some other members voices and help getting the match off the ground. How much is a membership? I might need to get in on this. You might contact Phil Strader and Robert Carlile about coming down and talking to your board. I bet that would go a long way.

Joe can you give us the best means of contacting the board so we can express our interest in the club joining USPSA?
