transporting long guns on motorcycle

But they would be difficult to mount on the side of the bike. My thinking is that if the bike goes down, I've got concerns bigger than the guns.

Solid point. If the bike falls on the hard cases, odds are they are going to break anyways.

Its not CAD, but here is a rough idea of how I'm wanting to carry the guns. One like this on each side of the bike.

The red is the rack and the green is the gun.

That design is not too bad, you would want a plate or something mounted, for the muzzle to rest on so that is doesnt fall if you hit a bump. I dont know the specs for the plastic pieces, but metal would be a better idea. Also it needs to have some good straps to tighten it down. If not the open top rack would probably loose the rifle on the first bump you hit

Exactly. I was saying to take off the plastic grab handle and bolt in a metal bracket using the holes in the subframe where the grab handle used to go. If you're serious about helping me, how does friday sound?

If you need another set of hands on Friday, I'm free. Can help you transport materials and such. Let me know. Should be interesting to watch and see for sure.

You just want to weasel in on Justin's bitches and/or hoes action.

I need to check my schedule. I dont have the equipment to weld aluminum wired up in the shop yet. We could use steel to make it, then drop it off at a chrome shop

That would get expensive quick, you'd be better off with powder coat.

Steel is fine by me. Let me know if Friday is good for you and Bonobo and I will head on down. Otherwise, we'll find another time.

A design like that would actually be pretty easy to do and very effective if you used hardcases.

When I adapted my throw over saddlebags to hardbags I know that I took sheet metal and mounted it to form a inner and outer wall along the plastic wall and then just aded a spot to bolt up.

kinda like this

you could then even rig up some panniers or other bags for any other hauling needs you may have to just switch out for whatever occasion

this is looks easy

This is how I used to ride around back in the day, and since I was on my Rocket, I would just run from the law

I like this concept a lot. I'd like the base structure to be a universally useful luggage rack. To said luggage rack, I could secure a pelican case that I own to the top in the same fashion you depicted. And I could place the gun racks to either side and remove them, again in the same fashion. And now that you mention it, I could also make it to where the side mount bracket would also accomodate some milk crates for my puppies to ride along. No, that is no joke. I sometimes strap a laundry basket to my girlfriend's scooter so the dogs can come along for the ride. Thanks for some great illustrations Terrell. Hopefully this happens before summer ends. I'm going to owe Justin some ammo, bitches, hoes, beer, etc.

Why don't you buy a POS truck and carry it in the back window? It would do wonders for the Redneck image you ate trying so hard to cultivate.
