I was thinking gun socks. Would that not suffice? The gun cases are all so bulky.
But they would be difficult to mount on the side of the bike. My thinking is that if the bike goes down, I've got concerns bigger than the guns.
Its not CAD, but here is a rough idea of how I'm wanting to carry the guns. One like this on each side of the bike.

The red is the rack and the green is the gun.
That design is not too bad, you would want a plate or something mounted, for the muzzle to rest on so that is doesnt fall if you hit a bump. I dont know the specs for the plastic pieces, but metal would be a better idea. Also it needs to have some good straps to tighten it down. If not the open top rack would probably loose the rifle on the first bump you hit
Exactly. I was saying to take off the plastic grab handle and bolt in a metal bracket using the holes in the subframe where the grab handle used to go. If you're serious about helping me, how does friday sound?
You just want to weasel in on Justin's bitches and/or hoes action. If you need another set of hands on Friday, I'm free. Can help you transport materials and such. Let me know. Should be interesting to watch and see for sure.

I need to check my schedule. I dont have the equipment to weld aluminum wired up in the shop yet. We could use steel to make it, then drop it off at a chrome shop

Maybe your over thinking this. What about a humongous form fitted kydex "holster"
A design like that would actually be pretty easy to do and very effective if you used hardcases.
When I adapted my throw over saddlebags to hardbags I know that I took sheet metal and mounted it to form a inner and outer wall along the plastic wall and then just aded a spot to bolt up.
kinda like this

you could then even rig up some panniers or other bags for any other hauling needs you may have to just switch out for whatever occasion
