Couldn't you just STAMP the serial number somewhere else? Seems like the easiest thing to do... About any machine shop should have a set and a mallet.. I'm sure if you asked they would let you borrow it!

If the stamps meet the atf requirements, then yes. But I'd rather have it laser engraved to avoid any hassle about it looking janky if it ever got checked.

On a positive note the a5 has been great so far. Much easier to load, love the auto load, still getting used to inertia recoil, from shooting gas guns exclusively.
