Actually, I like blue or Parkerizing better than stainless. Finish wear doesn't bother me at all, as long as the gun hasn't been totally abused.
Just spent the past two years working for The Modern Sportsman in MN. 75% of business seemed to be to "under 40" crowd. All buying plastic holsters...which, for plastic guns (they seem to prefer) is just fine. I would tell people I use only leather on my nice metal guns, 'cause plastic scratches. They would counter that leather will wear a finish. I would say, yes, but wear is noble, scratches are bad.
