So I got me a Loki!

I think I still have one of the 300 blackout barrels Loki Used. To the best of my knowledge Saturn made the barrels.

I believe your right. It was Satern on the barrels.

I guess I'll try to contact Nordic and see if they can help me with a stripped upper.

I had talked to Nordic the other day about FF Handguards they make, back ordered but about 2 weeks out. $99 for Extended Rifle Length and looks pretty nice that about $80 less than Troy and JP which are on BO too at Brownells.

Anyhow, I did call and the guy did confirm they made them for Loki and they can't do anything till the court situation is straightend out. I think someone will need to buy the rights and probably not to interested with all the bad publicity. Loki sure did screw up because I really like my 556, shoots well and would love to have another upper for a Big Bore upper solution.

I'll keep looking for one and someday maybe they will be back around.

I find it hard to believe that Nordic can't make a one off upper to fit on a Loki lower. Nothing says it has to to have the Loki name on it and one could always have them change some little something on the outside. It's really no different than having a gusseted custom 9" Ford rear 3rd member machined for a performance drag car. Now the cost might be hard to swallow with their setup charge. But it might be worth asking about in this climate.

with not being able to keep up with orders as it is, I doubt very seriously that they'd be interested in a 1 off.
But hey, you can always ask.

i also got a Loki the first of the year. Ordered it back in December and when I finally got it, they shut down the website and found out they went belly upi due to ATF/FFL issues. not going into that though.

What I wanted to do is build a 6.5 Grendel and can't find an upper either. Everyone said just buy another milspec lower. I dont want to do that. I put my Loki 556 upper on my milspec lower that I use for my 22lr conversion, my wifes, and it fits and works fine. it just has a little hole in the rear due to the curve on the milspec lower and Loki put theres at a 45 degree stright angle.

SO what I'm having to do is have a milspec upper, Mega most likely, cut the curved corner off. I have shower a few machine shops what I want done but they are to busy with easy projects. I could cut it myself and file to tight fit but looking for a CNC machile guy to help me out. It isn't a safety issue, just cosmetic so I might end up at my local hot rod milling shop, they do engine work which is very precise so just a stright cut isn't an issue.

Now the next herdle, can't find an upper. I did find a few but no forward assist or no ejection port cover. I might opt for that but this will be the only fix.

Yes I did can Nortic Components and they cant help out becuase they are an assemble line and yes Loki didn't pay the bill at there company either. I think thats what they did to all of there vendors and fabricators.

What r u wanting again? Forged Loki upper, lower, both or billet upper/lower? I have both but they are built. Ill year them apart but I need an upper/lower to trade and its gonna cost you sone cash for my time.

Tony you are absolutely WRONG!!! A J.P. billet upper WILL fit a Mil-spec Lower, As well as the reverse. A J.P. billet lower WILL FIT a Mil-spec upper!! It will look kinda strange in the latter, but it all fits. J.P. isn't dumb about stuff like that!

Kurt did you have your meds this morning?

Tony never said that JP WASN'T milspec - in fact the way I read it is he said JP WAS indeed MILSPEC.

I guess it is hard to read since Tony can't write complete sentences, use punctuation, or even Capital letters.

I read it as him saying their FORGED lowers are MILSPEC - JUST like JP

Nope I'm wrong. I was under the impression that the JP Billet set was designed to be used only as a set, like the Loki's were. I guess all that badass machining on the JP billet sets threw me.
That's great that they'll fit on a forged lower, it makes thing alot easier.

Yep Brandon, had the meds, drank the coffee and kicked the cat! Billet
still means billet and forged still is equivalent to "milk-spec". When
Tony pointed out that Loki Billets would only fit Loki billets..."just like all othere manufacturers to include J.P." I am pretty sure he was talking about J.P. BILLETS! Might I suggest a reading comrehension class or a
better perscription fror you in place of my meds or caffien intake? :sarcastichand:

Send me a PM with your offer. Remember my billet is OD green and I have to disassemble a complete rifle that is very nice to sell it to you.

yep.....but who wants that
I went to the machine shop today. He said he can use his CNC machine and cut the edge off another Upper to fit my LOKI Lower. If I can't find one for a decent price, he can modify it for $75 to $100, he said around an hour or so. Depending on the upper I get, add the $75 to $100. I'm also looking at a Left Side Charge from American Spirit Arms. Around $400 but still need the carrier.

Anyhow, modify one isn't out of the question now, glad to here that...
