I was unsure if I should put this here or in the tactical shotgun thread.
I guess I will count on the moderators to decide.

I want to shorten a side by side double barrel to 18.25 inches.
Are there any special considerations is using a bandsaw to shorten the barrel?
Such as will the barrels separate?

Good point- but I think it would most likely work out ok. Clamping the barrels just behind where you cut them would probably be a good idea too. Any gunsmiths or people who have had this conversion done to one out there?

What do you think?

Just make sure that the solider joint between the two barrels is continuous, a few old ones are not. A lot of modern cheaper guns will have a flattened tube, hollow in cross section there. Be prepared to fill the end of this tube with something, or it will look goofy. I used silver solider, but you could use J&B weld.

I am most likely going to be selling mine.

Stock?

Nope, I wanted a "Mad Max" when I did the one. I even started working on a leather leg holster, then my attention got pulled away to something else. Maybe I finish it for Halloween and go as Max. It would great to listen to folks compliment me on how real it looked at parties!
