What's everyone think of having a target shoot contest? It's just an idea won't hurt my feelings either.
Here is some guidelines, the shoot will be an aggregate of all four targets. Once you save them, you should be able to print them on a regular 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper from a black/white printer. The sizes should be appropriate... but I'll tell you the sizes of the scoring rings on each stage so you can compare and make sure. You CAN color/darken/fill-in the scoring rings for aiming points etc. however taking a sharpie to modify the scoring rings is a no-no. All these targets should be shot at 100 yds, with no time limit. Any shot whose grease ring is touching a scoring ring will be scored a hit... accept for the actual hostage on the hostage target, the round must BREAK the line in order to consider the hostage hit, and the -20 pnts applied. Obviously this shoot is geared more toward scoped/precision rigs. Bipods, bags, bench, prone, etc. are allowed, lead sleds and other rigs where you don't shoulder the weapon are not.
Here is a breakdown of the Stages...
Stage 1: Cold Bore Shot... 1 round. Max points 20. This MUST be the first round fired out of the rifle for this range outing. You will be awarded 20 points for a hit on the center dot, 10 points for a hit in the second scoring ring, and 0 points for a miss. The center dot is slightly under 1.20", and with the radius of the bullet, you have roughly a 1.5" target. The second scoring ring is about 2.2", and with the radius of the bullet you have roughly a 2.5" target.
Stage 2: 3 round group... 3 rounds. Max points 30. Fire three rounds at the circle, 10 points awarded for each hit. 0 points awarded for a miss. The circle is right at 1" in dia.
Stage 3: Know your limits... up to 4 rounds. Max points 50. Only one round per square, shot in decending size (i.e. biggest first). You may quit at any time, a hit on the appropriate square gains that point value... a miss on ANY square nets 0 points TOTAL for this stage. The largest square is 2 3/4" on a side, and the smallest square is 1/2" on a side.
Hostage: Hostage target... 2 rounds, one round for each bad guy. Max points 20, a -40 points possible though. A hit in the T-Box of the bad guy is 10 points, a hit anywhere else on the head 5 points, a miss is 0... any hit on the hostage is -20 points. You can also gain points from hitting the bad guy, but if the grease ring from the bullet hole cuts the line, you also get -20 points. The t-box on the bad guys is roughly 1"x1"... and the target should fill up an entire page.
Total possible points is 120, and the round count is up to 10 depending on how many rounds you fire during stage 3. Please post pictures of your targets here in this thread. I believe we are leaving this shoot open for a while, and multiple entry's are welcome.
Good luck gentlemen!!
