Grace and i plan to be there, duh. not like ive been looking foward to it since the spring shootzenfest. may have to leave early though.

how about some name tags? i know there are people saying they have never been and i cant wait to meet new members, and you old members too. problem is i have CRS.(cant remember stuff) especially bad with names.

how about 2 xl shirts? has it been decieded what will be printed on them? mp3, mp4 and mp5 is a cool idea. i liked the zombie shirt but it got lost before i even wore it.

i can bring Graces super accurate Rem 20 ga pump youth model. we had the barrel "accurized" for slugs.

i remember telling clicker id bring the few 70 gr 22 projectiles. just remembered Paco your 6.8 mag is in my bag.

did i tell anyone else id bring something? seriously, cant remember shiiiiiiiiiiip.

we never met at the mall for you to get the 38 and 357 cases, and i forgot your name.

I got the CRS too, was I supposed to bring sumpin for you? I might have some 7.62x39 brass around here.

either one.

you were going to bring 55 gr fmj to trade for 70 gr sp.

brass would be good. if i can find some heavy .311 bullets i want to load some for when my can arrives.

I'm going to come out look forward to meeting everyone. 2XL for me. I think I'll have heavy barrel Mosin complete by then in the permanent stock if not the temporary stock will have to do. I haven't bothered to zero it yet though. I also just got a Finn M39 for all you MilSurp guys.

What's the policy on incindeary rounds?

@Tiger the SMK 174g .311 are what a lot of the Mosin guys reload but some on that board have been petitioning SMK to make a 200g .311 so please email SMK telling them you wan a heavy bullet. What is it you are putting a can on that shoots .311 anyway, an AK?

In general, do we want to provide a "Swap and Shop" table or two so folks can sell/trade any items they're interested in getting rid of? Rules are simple: You are responsible for what you bring; All laws must be followed; Clearly mark all items with asking price.

Thoughts / Comments?

BTW: I'd be happy to assume the role of Range Safety Officer for the day. I'm an NRA Certified Training Counselor, Chief Range Safety Officer, etc, etc.

Rules are simple (and a 1-page sheet would be handed to everyone):

1) All muzzles pointed in a safe direction at all times (including behind the line)
2) Chamber checker (yellow) flag in muzzles when not on the line (or gun in a closed case)
3) Magazines OUT, Muzzles UP, actions OPEN and a flag in the chamber when moving guns to/from line
4) NO handling guns on line (including bringing to or removing from the line) when people are downrange. PERIOD.
5) You brought it in, you clean it up
6) Shoot only your own targets
7) Don't hog the bench - Set up behind the line and take a bench when you want to shoot then give it to the next guy.
8) If you want to try someone else's gun, ask politely and think ahead by bringing your own ammo!!

I can make up some 'cards' that say "I'll share" on it. If you're willing to let someone else try your gun, simple put the card on your pile of stuff and that will let people know it's OK to ask you! :D

Thoughts/comments??

My son and I will be there. He is rwallen626.
We both need XXL shirts.
Not sure what we will bring, but definitely will include AR15 5.56 and Hi Point 9MM carbine.

What's everyone think of having a target shoot contest? It's just an idea won't hurt my feelings either.

Here is some guidelines, the shoot will be an aggregate of all four targets. Once you save them, you should be able to print them on a regular 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper from a black/white printer. The sizes should be appropriate... but I'll tell you the sizes of the scoring rings on each stage so you can compare and make sure. You CAN color/darken/fill-in the scoring rings for aiming points etc. however taking a sharpie to modify the scoring rings is a no-no. All these targets should be shot at 100 yds, with no time limit. Any shot whose grease ring is touching a scoring ring will be scored a hit... accept for the actual hostage on the hostage target, the round must BREAK the line in order to consider the hostage hit, and the -20 pnts applied. Obviously this shoot is geared more toward scoped/precision rigs. Bipods, bags, bench, prone, etc. are allowed, lead sleds and other rigs where you don't shoulder the weapon are not.

Here is a breakdown of the Stages...

Stage 1: Cold Bore Shot... 1 round. Max points 20. This MUST be the first round fired out of the rifle for this range outing. You will be awarded 20 points for a hit on the center dot, 10 points for a hit in the second scoring ring, and 0 points for a miss. The center dot is slightly under 1.20", and with the radius of the bullet, you have roughly a 1.5" target. The second scoring ring is about 2.2", and with the radius of the bullet you have roughly a 2.5" target.

Stage 2: 3 round group... 3 rounds. Max points 30. Fire three rounds at the circle, 10 points awarded for each hit. 0 points awarded for a miss. The circle is right at 1" in dia.

Stage 3: Know your limits... up to 4 rounds. Max points 50. Only one round per square, shot in decending size (i.e. biggest first). You may quit at any time, a hit on the appropriate square gains that point value... a miss on ANY square nets 0 points TOTAL for this stage. The largest square is 2 3/4" on a side, and the smallest square is 1/2" on a side.

Hostage: Hostage target... 2 rounds, one round for each bad guy. Max points 20, a -40 points possible though. A hit in the T-Box of the bad guy is 10 points, a hit anywhere else on the head 5 points, a miss is 0... any hit on the hostage is -20 points. You can also gain points from hitting the bad guy, but if the grease ring from the bullet hole cuts the line, you also get -20 points. The t-box on the bad guys is roughly 1"x1"... and the target should fill up an entire page.

Total possible points is 120, and the round count is up to 10 depending on how many rounds you fire during stage 3. Please post pictures of your targets here in this thread. I believe we are leaving this shoot open for a while, and multiple entry's are welcome.

Good luck gentlemen!!

The heat generated from full auto fire and plastic do not get along very well. Nor do most cases.
MG's usually have extensive cool down periods during which you do not want to touch their chambers/barrels/gas systems.

Rifle suppressors are the same way, will easily reach over 600F.

Hey! That would be fun! Do we need "Optics and Open Sight classes"

I added some rules or guidelines to the first post. But yes scoped unless you are awesome with iron sights.

OK - I'm learning. Are you making assumptions or have you personally experienced melting of the chamber checkers? If its fact, then we'll need to figure out another way to show 'clear'.

I've seen too many instants of folks carrying loaded guns to/from a fireline to want to see someone shot...

BTW: Who remembers the NG last year that (fortunately) only hit the ground....

I'm not a competitive shooter by any means. These are part of postal shoot I'm doing with another forum. Just thought I'd share the fun no pressure on the shoot. I don't want to change the spirit of ShootzenFest by any means. We could do it as a postal shoot on the forum even. Shoot it when you want post up pics of your targets at your convenience by a certain date or whatever.
