I just got in my new CTR-02 and i'm now trying to figure out which scope i would like to buy for it. I preffer the variable power scopes with a true 1x on the low end. I REALLY like the leupold mark 6 with the cmr-w reticle but its a bit too expensive. Im trying to stay around $1000. I'm open for any suggestions.

The Leupold VX6 is the only 6X variable I'm aware of under a grand. Next stop is the Bushnell 1-6.5X and the Vortex 1-6X which has a pretty solid reticle.

With a Cadillac 3 gun rifle like the CTR-02 you really need the BMW of scopes in the Swarovski Z6i though.

Well for he new rifle I decided not to cheap out on the optics and got me a leupold mark 6 1-6x20 with the CMR-W reticle. Hopefully I like it. Any input from someone that has used one?

I know a few guys who have sold off the Swaro and are just fine with other optics. The Swaro ain't all that.

US Optics has a new 1x to 4x with a nice reticle and is FFP for $1400

I still manage to put the Swaros lower on the overall finish list with a $1000 PitBull.

But Jesse is right about having a 1st rate Rifle and putting cheap as glass on it.

DON'T

I will be honest I just put the vortex 1-6 on my rifle it's a great scope! In my opinion it's right up there with the swaro!
The Vortex is probably the best value for higher end optics

There is way too much elephant dung going on in that leupold reticle. I haven't seen the TMR reticle, but the 5.56 reticle is too busy.

I would recommend the Bushnell Tac Elite SFP w/ BTR-2 reticle. For the price, you can't beat it.
I have handled and looked through one of these but not shot with it. I am continually impressed with the Bushnell Elite 6500 scopes.
