Scope for my new rifle

I will be honest I just put the vortex 1-6 on my rifle it's a great scope! In my opinion it's right up there with the swaro!
I figured if it's good enough for Popcorn, it's good enough for me! just put a vortex on mine as well and I'm really impressed. Clear as can be, BDC right on the money, reticle is quick to pick up...i like it a lot

Just remember that the Leupold Mark 6 is a FFP scope so the reticle doesn't look like that until you get to 6x. At 1x it look like a bright red dot without all of the holdover stuff. I have one on a JP LRP07 and I like it so far. I will be using it at Tx multigun and if I don't like it I can always sell it for what I paid since it was purchase on a LE price program.

Daniel Horner had a prototype Mark 6 on his gun last year and I played with it a bit at the Task Force Dagger 3G match in Georgia. It is a solid, well built scope. The reticle was a little busy for my tastes for 3-Gun even with FFP. Now on a .308 shooting long range that might be a different story.

Close in terms of clarity and quality, maybe more sturdy. But the 1-6 razor is as heavy as a brick. that kills it for me.

But Jesse is right about having a 1st rate Rifle and putting cheap as glass on it.
But what do you do if you have a cheep rifle and don't want to drop a fortune on a scope for it.

From what i have seen and shot I'd say it might be hard to beat the Burris Tac 30 if you are looking for something in the $300-400 range...

Well I've got a Hesse AR15-A2 and from what I've read on line even that's to much of a scope for it. But that is one I'm thinking about if I go to optics.

I know there is an analogy about fat girls to be made here, just too tired to come up with something clever right now...
