Range Master 1911

Thinking about purchasing a Springfield Range Master 1911. Will probably have to sell a couple of mine to do so but I feel like I have to have one, a 1911 that is. Any comments on this particular one? I like Springfields and they have some good reviews on this model.

Range Officer - I have had one for a while, it's a great 1911 for the price. Mine will hold sub 2" @ 25 yards with just about any ammo. And has never had a single malfunction with about 10 different bullet profiles.

I think the Springfield RO and the STI Spartan are by far the best 1911's in that price range.

Everyone keeps talking about these 1911's and put a craving on me. I'm still researching makers and cost so I can find one that will be right for me. I'll look at the STI Spartan too. Thanks for the info

Weird... STI is one of the dominating forces in uspsa but somehow its being said to pass on them. I guess thousands of shooters with many more thousands of rounds are all wrong in the product they picked.

I have never seen a pro shooter, shot sti guns, unless they were sponsored by them, and I happen to know that even those guns dont have all sti parts in them. simply put all the semi-pro and hobby shooters love sti for one reason, they are CHEAP.

The owner of sti, Cares about 1 thing, money.... SVI is the staple of 2011 guns, every race, limited or open gun I have built has been on SVI chassis with caspain frames. now for those here that think they have a pro style gun, and it's an sti in 40 cal, you are wrong. all the pros shot 9x23 or 9x25 and they are svi chassis's and highly modified and cost way more than 2200.00 bucks out the door.

You would be better off with a rock island than and sti single stack, reason, you save about 300.00 bucks for the same damn gun.

The pros shoot 9x23 or 9x25 for limited then, because clearly they don't shoot .40? I bet that makes it easy to make major, but it's really too bad about that .40 cal min diameter for limited major.

Damn, I wish I would have known that before I spent a bunch of money with Cyrwus on an .40 cal gun with a STI frame and slide.
