Yep. Like I said earlier, I made a conscious decision to go with the Glock. I had given up on a 2011 for now until I added everything up. Was wondering what a different crowd thought about that though. I was supposed to be shipping it off right about now.
At this point its just a matter of thinking maybe that is dumb in terms of being a bad investment. Some local pros basically recommended that if I do go with the Glock, that I do certain things to it. That sounded cool until I actually added it all up and it was over $600. Even without the fancy slide cuts, if I get a conversion barrel, 9mm mags, base plates, and holster, along with these mods such as trigger, stipple, sights, magwell... I will have $1,700 in this Glock setup if I do the recommended mods. Just got sticker shock at the last minute. That's a lot of money for something that will immediately be worth half that at best, and that's supposed to be what I'm settling with due to not wanting to spend $2K on a 2011 ($1700 eagle + $200 mags + $100 holster)? It's simply not rational and I'm trying to make sense of that.
Yes that advice is making more sense by the minute. I'm just going to have to dumb down the build and live with certain imperfections. Sights and a cheap trigger spring pack and maybe some skateboard tape then just shoot .40 major in 3-gun for awhile as silly as that sounds. I'll get a 9mm STI at a later date.
