OKCGC Saturday April 30th All Shotgun Match

Dennis if you get over that way check out the WM in Liberal, KS. When I was working up there the shotshell selection they had would boggle anyone's mind. It was late summer though and you know how they like to hunt birds. But they had anything you could possibly want. Pallets and pallets and pallets of it.

Wallyworld has everything from Estate 1160 fps, to Rem super target at 1350. Just got back.
All 8 shot. Not a single box of 7 1/2. No slugs.
Gotta love a superstore with a shooting section that would fit in a tiny closet. It's sad.
That's why I reload shot shells.
If you roll your own how are we gonna be able to tell what it is? Tony sure as hell ain't gonna bring a chrono.

Like the wallyworld in Guymon. I stop in there on my way to NM elk hunting.
They have everything ammowise.
Reloading supplies, reloaders, you name it.

Reminds me when we had the High Plains shotgun match. Mitch could only find the high velocity slugs vs the reduced velocity. When he shot everybody thought an explosion went off. It was a blast watching him get rocked sitting in that chair. :D
those were 3" slugs, shot at 7yds across a tiny berm!

Oh yeah with high walls around him that amplified the sound. Quite the show!
If I remember right Benny Hill was the RO on that stage.

Really?

When they opened the new supercenter was when I was working up there. The regular WM had some guns, ammo, etc. When they opened the brand new supercenter they had diddly squat. I talked to a cop in the new one a day right after it opened and he was pissed that they ditched all firearm related items. We were both like "oh well, off to Liberal we go". I used to stop at the Optima WMA range in the evenings and shoot when I got finished at the courthouse.

Is this match newbie friendly? I have minimal gear and even less skills with the shotgun than my meager handgun abilities. Still, I would like to shoot it to get the feel for it.

If you don't show up, then you're a pansie.
I plan on it.
Let's see if I have it all right. Magnum slugs, 3" mag buck, 1-1/8 1450fps bird shot. :) I may take the pansie title with that.

I need to go look what ammo I do have.
