OK State .22 & .223 Tactical Rifle Indoor Championship

The turn out of this one will have a direct impact on any future Tactical Rifle matches held at Heartland.

Initial interest and enthusiasm was high, which may have been tempered when folks realized it was Memorial weekend.

While I believe the interest is out there....i need to prove it.

i suppose if were are short on entrys when the time comes, i could bring my scope along and shoot 2 divisions, if it came down to it!

Dave, that would help. As a reminder, if your entry is received by Saturday and decide the day of the match to shoot another division, there is NO late fee.

18 yards will be the farthest actual distance. As Trapr has warned for the High Plains, KNOW YOUR ZERO!

Went to the range with the Nordic upper, and 10-22 magnified after work today.....Holy CRAP!! Zero'd at 18, and the two rifles are totally different moving up to 5 yds. I've got a lot more practice and memory work to do to remember which does what at different ranges. Then the .223 comes into the picture :(

Whats the shortest range we will be shooting at??

Another question. I've read the range rules and understand them.
This will be my first time to shoot at Heartland.
Ammo for the .223.
FMJ allowed? If soft point only, are HP rounds legal?
I have all the above, just wanted to make sure what to bring/practice with.

Dave, no need to send another entry, but if you KNOW you're going to shoot another division, then sending it in would help me with logistics.

FMJ is fine in .223

I've not decided on the shortest distance, but it'll be far enough so the .223 muzzle blast wont be a problem.

Wanna make an exception for me and my lowly .22 handgun? I am thinking about ordering an AK variant in .22lr but it would not arrive in time. I might be able to mold a stock out of paper towel tubes and duct tape. Burk, Sandy and Paul started talking about the match again today and my impulse buying started to kick in again.

Y'know what? If you want to shoot this match with a .22 handgun, come on out !

Understand it's designed for rifles, so bring a steady hand, steely eye and plenty of ammo.

I've tweaked the stages to accommodate the .223 muzzle blast and was able to improve the match in the process, which is not an easy feat!

We will even have a FIFTH bonus stage!

Wow, no comments about a better match with an extra stage?

trust me i am hyped, i am going to shoot my 1st 3 gun match saturday and then use my AR on this match.... my AR is going to get some well needed work.... it has felt lonely.... and i don't have to work monday so i don't care how late it runs, shoot lets do 10 stages!!!! so are you going to give us any hints on what theses stages might might look like.. more importantly, if i wear a rambo like headband and shoot with my shirt off do i get some time deducted off
