don't worry about sounding like a noob, this forum is very friendly and we love to get people into guns..

Welcome to Boomer Shooter! As benjamin-benjamin has already said, don't worry about sounding like a noob. Each of us were noobs once and some of us still are. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

We love boobs here! Jk welcome . Hope u have a second job , cause your gonna need it!

Welcome to the forum. First bit of advice is come shoot a match with us asap. It will change the way you look at firearms, shooting and not having anything to do on the weekends. If you dont know what a match is domt worry neither did any of us at one time. I have a bunch of videos and so do other members on their YouTube pages. There is usually a link to the vids in our signatures.

Dont be shy on newbie questions. If it wasn't for stupid questions I wouldn't have half my post count and Wall would have zero posts!

Glad you found us!

Thanks, I will check out your videos when I get home, work blocks videos. After I get my handgun I will come shoot a match if i can get a weekend day off of work, sounds fun.

i would sign up for this class 99 is a steal and you can learn the basics at the same time..

I would love to, but do not think I will have that much left, I am buying my first handgun on Thursday and after getting the ammo probably won't have much money left and it looks like I would need an extra mag (the gun I am looking at only includes 2) and a holster also. Plus I work that day and do not get off until 9PM. I will keep tabs on that thread to see about future classes, though, it seems like a great opportunity.

Edit: And it looks like i will have to wait 5 days after applying for the gun to actually purchase it according to Oklahoma laws...

Beretta U22 Neos, can't decide between 6 inch or 4.5 inch yet, though. Academy has the 4.5 inch for $229.99, they do not have the 6 inch listed on the web site i am going to call them tomorrow to see if they carry it, I cannot find them for this price anywhere else. Bass Pro has them for $259.99 and Sooner State Pawn has them for $217.99 plus $27.95 shipping charge.

Unless it's a concealed carry longer is usually better. Go with the 6" and cone shoot steel challenge with us next month at OKCGC on the 3rd Saturday.

Ok, the 6 inch it is. I put in for a vacation day for that day, i hope I get it off, sounds like a fun time.

Edit: I looked at the OKCGC web site, do I need to be a member to join you guys? Or is it a free weekend type of thing?

Edit 2: Never mind, i found the price for nonmembers, hope i get the day off!

I have one and love it. One of my best friends has one too. They love federal bulk blue box. Welcome to the insanity!

Thanks! I will have one soon, paying for it Thursday we will see how long I have to wait for my background check...thanks for the ammo tip, I have been looking all over for what is good for it. Do you have a red dot on it?

Well this sucks. Academy carries the 4.5 inch for $229.99 but not the 6 inch version. Bass Pro has the 6 inch for $259.99. Just my luck, looks like I am going Pawn Shop hunting on Thursday, wish me luck. Looking into ammo types also, this is getting confusing, I want ammo, but don't want to get cheap stuff that will misfire or get stuck in the gun.
