Need help choosing a 3-gun rifle

Loki offers their low mass bolt carrier as an upgrade. The match trigger is another upgrade. The standard 3G rifle does not include either. I have no issue with Loki or the quality of anything they make.

I was just trying to make the point that some people have "sticker shock" when they see the cost of a JP, but everything you would want in a standard 3 gun rifle is already included in the price of the JP-MRR. There are no adds for the preferred trigger or low mass BCG.

I didn't know they were upgrades. I thought it was included in the 3G package. Thanks for clarifying.

There are always upgrades! I upgraded my JP CTR-02 with a bunch of stuff after i had it. That's after paying over $2500 for the rifle.

I know there are always upgrades. I was just pointing out that to get the Loki 3G up to the same standards as a base JP-15, there are upgrades required that have already been included in JP's base price.

For most of us, shooting a base gun is plenty good enough. It ain't the arrow until you reach a certain level of ability. I've got the Loki base tactical rifle, it runs 100% and shoots a lot better than I'll ever be able to. Heck, a $2500 rifle ought to be able to shoot a course of fire by itself.

With the bolt carrier upgrade it is still $500 less than a JP15, and weighs almost a full pound less.

My vote is Loki
Reason # 1 is customer service
Reason # 2 it is built in Oklahoma - just a pride thing

This summer I talked to Erik at Loki on a Thursday the week before the Doubletap & Old Fort 3gun he said if i sent him my sidecocker upper he had everything in stock he would do his best to have my upper built so I could have it for the big weekend. I Fed Ex the upper on Friday and oil field friend picked upper up on Wednesday morning. That weekend I had my rifle for my 2nd & 3rd 3-gun matches.
He did not know me prior to that phone call and he said he would have upper ready and he did. Thats what I call customer service.

The rifle Loki has for $1250 before seeing that gun I told my youngest brother not to buy a gun we will buy the parts and put one together. After seeing that gun I would buy that rifle as is as a new shooter. The trigger has a 3-3.5 pd pull.
If I had the extra $200 I would add the low mass system with the adjustable gas block.
I think the Loki 3 gun offered at $1250 is the baseline "boomershooter gun" featuring a double fluted barrel with rifle length gas, 15 inch carbon fiber handguard and improved trigger. To me this gun is reliable no adjustable gas block or trigger to worry about. Next step is low mass system.

Loki did a great job putting this together at a great price.

Just my opinion
