Updated Policy for State and Local Agency Law Enforcement Sales:
So that policy is from a year ago? It'd be interesting to know how/where they've refused sales.

Check his facebook page. It was a typo. Only been there for like 6 hours. The Antichrome said:So that policy is from a year ago? It'd be interesting to know how/where they've refused sales.
Beat what thing? What exactly does this decision by Larue do that will help beat anything? The politician or chief of police is not on the street every night, and most of them could give a crap less what kind of weapons the street officers have access to as long as it doesnt violate department policy.StealthESW said:This is epic. Now, if they will ALL follow suit, we can beat this thing. :021:
i have friends and family that are LEO/FBI, and they are not the ones voting for AWB, they are just as against it as we are.. see no reason to punish them...Eric Gambill said:Beat what thing? The only thing this does is hurt the patrol officer. You know, the guy that lives down the street from you that has a wife and 2 kids. He straps on a vest and gun and leaves his family every night to deal with (sometimes violent) criminals....and he does it for crap money compared to other careers. How many of you do that? I see people post up about how criminals do not follow gun laws and all that but you dont take a second to think about the men and women whos job it is to deal with those criminals.
I'll keep my business somewhere else. With a company that understands that the police officer on the street needs access to high quality equipment because they are called to deal with the worst that society has to offer, and may end up sacrificing their own life for one of you....or you family members.
Tyranny is defined as that which is legal for the government but illegal for the citizenry.
You and I face the same threats as our police, and we don't have the ability to call in the whole department for backup at a moment's notice. It's unfortunate that it's come to situations like this, but I support both Mark LaRue and Ronnie Barret on their decisions.
Before I lead off on this one, please understand me; I support our police forces and the job that they (and you and many other BSers) do with every fiber of my being. You are under-appreciated and underpaid.Eric Gambill said:I thought the definition of Tyranny was the unrestrained, oppressive and unjust abuse of power by a gov against its citizens....
I dont know your background, or what you do for a living so please explain to me how you face the same threats as I (and other police officers on the street around the country) face.
It really does suck that it has come to this. Because truthfully, it affects all of us. I hate to imagine a day where the police cannot get the best tools/weapons for the job. If someone broke into your house and took your family hostage would you want the police who respond to only have pistols with 7 round mags? If an active shooter walked into your childrens school? If a cop in one of those areas with bad gun restrictions makes a traffic stop tonight and its a car full of armed gang members with felony warrants....he shouldnt have the best available to him to fight for his life if they decide to attack?
Most of you do not face the same threats as a police officer, and your deliousional if you think the ability to call for backup is going to keep a cop from getting killed. I hate to see the attitude thats been going around lately that police officers are some kind of agent of the evil gov. The bad thing is just like Benjamin said, A LOT of police officers feel the same way about the gun restrictions and AWB as you do.
@Jesse: I wouldnt quit protecting the citizens in my jurisdiction even if they made me into a freeking english bobby with nothing more than an nightstick. Its my job.
Eric, I whole heartedly echo the thoughts of Austin T. I don't know what the best way to go about it would be but the average working LEO has got to collectively figure out a way to get the message across to your chiefs, unions, mayors, etc. and the politicians that they pander to, that support of these BS laws has got to stop.Eric Gambill said:I thought the definition of Tyranny was the unrestrained, oppressive and unjust abuse of power by a gov against its citizens....
