No one has a LifeStraw? No one wants to drink their own poo water? It's like a fine cocktail. Hard to actually draw the water, but will clean ANYTHING out of the water.

Right now, mine is mostly my packpacking stuff. Light, stuff that I actually have used before, and looks like I'm just getting ready to go out for the weekend.

Eventually, I'll go the Army way with an "A" Bag, "B" Bag, "C" Bag concept.

The "A" bag gets me through 72-96 hours, the "B" bag takes the "A" bag to 2 weeks, and the "C" takes me to 6 weeks.

How is everyone handling medications and vitamins? I keep a complete month of medications and vitamins in my backpack. When I use the ones in the house, I move the packback ones to the house and refill the backpack.

I have about 12 MREs, a USMC issued IFAK, 4 lighters, a magnesium fire stick, tent and netting, 3 flight suits, pain pills(ibuprofen), 3 or 4 bottles of dayquil, my interceptor vest (most of my molle gear is on it, ifak, admin pouch with pens, lighter, flashlight) with 5 ak mags and a 75 round drum,about 1000 rounds of 762x39 and an AK, 200 rounds of 308 and my M1A. My 45 with about 100 rounds and Beretta with 100, spread out over me and my wife. Im looking for a 4wd toyota, Id like to have an 85 or 86 but most anything will do but I want a cap. If I can find one I want to outfit two tanks, water and fuel. My biggest concern isnt really what I have, but where Im going. Fuel is a major concern if you choose the vehicle mounted route, also taking into consideration that most havent prepared, they will be looking to take what I have. I would like to have a place defined and set up. An out of the way location that provides both tactical and practical advantages. Proximity to water, wildlife and tactical seclusion. Its gonna take some searching but Im working on it. I think Colorado sounds good, or maybe Montana, but depending on the emergency things will probably change.

Thanks! I too have been thinking about the Hatchet, I just don't know about the extra weight. And I would love to put my "other" pistol in the bag, but with a baby running around I don't think the wife would ever go for it. Also what is a sock hat? and I said baby but it would rally be more of a todler (1 year old)

As for the hatchet a folding saw is a lot less weight and just as effective.

I figure my range bag is my BOB. I'm too lazy to carry my range bag, double rifle case, and filled ammo cans up stairs every time I come home from practice or a match so all that stuff sits by the front door. More than enough to get me to the family dairy a few miles away where we've got almost 10k head of cattle, 7 sections of farm land, wells, veterinary supplies, etc. Hope I never have to find out my plan sucks but until then, 3 gun gear = BOB.
