And what model and caliber should I go with?
Some explanation because OP is new: the Glock 19 is generally regarded as the gold standard "do-it-all handgun." If you wanted one gun for concealed carry, home defense, and target practice you could do a lot worse. I think the biggest benefit of a 9mm auto pistol in general is that 9mm is the cheapest centerfire round you can buy so you can shoot more.MikeF said:Everyone knows the real correct answer is: Glock 19
When did PGiggly grow up and start giving such sound advice with no sarcasm or internet based humor attached?dr poopgiggle said:Some explanation because OP is new: the Glock 19 is generally regarded as the gold standard "do-it-all handgun." E: of course, the Glock 19 is really popular so they never last long on the used market. Summit is running a sale on Glock 22s for $313 right now; you'd never see a 19 that low.
New shooters don't know any better. You assholes do so I'll troll you forever.Jesse Tischauser said:When did PGiggly grow up and start giving such sound advice with no sarcasm or internet based humor attached?
Sage advice......dr poopgiggle said:Like, I remember being new to handguns and all I knew about them I got from my grandpa so this was the sum total of my handgun knowledge:
1. No auto pistol other than a .45ACP 1911 is worth owning.
Case in point: the crackpot Fudds have not only learned to use computers, some of them have even infiltrated this forum.dennishoddy said:Sage advice......
