How to do virtual prize table?

I assumed we would first do the drawing for the order of finish. Then we open up the thread with the prizes and let em pick. After each pick we out the new owners name next to it.
I'm good with this method too.

That's how I thought it would work Steve. If it takes a while it takes a while.

I agree, I don't want a time limit either but I can tell you I still have lowers that I haven't gotten shpg info on & an unclaimed BoomerShooter t-shirt from when we did those (like 2 years ago).
Whittaker guns, c/o Bob Sanders. There, fixed it

What size is that shirt?

What do the rules state? if it were me I would take first to fifth and offer the best to first and so on to fifth. Just like a normal prize table Give them one day to claim their prize(makes them stop in and see what is going on with this GREAT site and not be a member just for the prizes) then open it up on a random draw of 5 per day (how many are in?) And the first to get back to you as in dubois in a pm gets the pick (cross out the prizes as you go) this let you do it on a smartphone. Other than the top 5 that worked there ass off for this great stuff who else sees this fair. Ya 65 dollars for a shirt is alot but I think we are all on board for the great time and a beer together someday

This might have the same drawback as the time limit. Those who cant rapidly reply with the pm kinda get the short end of the stick.

If it takes time I'm good with that. Maybe start a new post with all prizes listed and the date the drawings are going to start this way everyone who has entries in can follow the post and watch what's going on and what prize was picked.

There is the other aspect that Brandon might have some else to do other than run the prize table non stop for 2 weeks. Perhaps we could do it in groups of five with those individuals listing what the want 1-5 of what remaining on the table. Once those 5 get sorted out, update the list and go on to the next 5.

Make a post saying when the drawing will take place, say 3 weeks from now and also PM everyone involved letting them know and request a reply to the PM so you know they got it. By the end of 3 weeks hopefully everyone will have responded and knows the date it's taking place.
Have the response to include an email and phone # as well so there are multiple points of contact.

Sounds good Matt R.

As far as the drawing itself, if it hasn't already been planned, I would suggest:

1) make a numbered list of all entries - if Johnny has 20 entries, his name goes on line 1-20, jimmy with 6 entries gets 21-26, Billy only has 3 and gets lines 27-29, etc.

2) Have random.org spit out a random series of numbers between 1 and the number of entries. If there were 100 entries, it will give something like:

----------------
Random Integer Set Generator

You requested 1 set with 100 unique random integers, taken from the [1,100] range. The integers were not sorted.

Here is your set:

Set 1: 80, 70, 96, 91, 79, 26, 42, 90, 4, 45, 16, 59, 95, 17, 63, 58, 55, 7, 93, 56, 57, 8, 73, 85, 28, 100, 72, 67, 27, 83, 34, 49, 68, 61, 62, 87, 94, 11, 99, 48, 37, 52, 15, 89, 10, 53, 71, 64, 14, 38, 39, 33, 47, 51, 46, 21, 24, 29, 86, 35, 43, 19, 50, 23, 66, 22, 88, 6, 81, 32, 25, 1, 69, 5, 84, 3, 75, 44, 31, 18, 97, 40, 77, 76, 12, 9, 41, 54, 98, 2, 65, 74, 78, 20, 13, 30, 92, 82, 60, 36

-----------

3) match numbers with names to make an order, if someone has already gone, just get the name of the next person (if there was a one prize per person limit).

4) publish the order, have a moderator PM each person in order or call/text. Keep a thread with all the prizes listed, add a name next to each prize as it's taken - will look something like the predict when we get to 2,000 members thread (or whatever the number is).

This ain't rocket science.
That's pretty much how it's gonna go. We will start the prize table as in a day or two or however long it takes me to generate the numbers, sort the prizes and publish it all. Hopefully today!

Holy crap! I think paper, rock, scissor would suffice

Dude - you are way too confusing.

We know HOW to do the drawing - same way we have done every other big drawing with the random numbers and dow jones giveaway. This way everyone is eligible - everyone knows their numbers days in advance - then the DOW picks who wins not us.

The part we are trying to figure out is the PRIZE distribution part. Although I think we have that figured out also - so stay tuned for an announcement

Sorry, for some reason the ipad took out the line breaks when I posted it. I thought that's what the title of the thread was asking for.
