What's even funnier is the fact that I actually just had a Frito Chili Pie for lunch. Must have been submliminal.
:sign0024: This should be Burk with his hammer!Where the hell have I taken this thread? I should be banned...... thwack goes the hammer.
This could be a whole new thread, "helping others" Although admirable, it is a very risky proposition. The SDA addresses use of deadly force as such:
"A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony."
The problem with this is that it is difficult to know for certain who the good guy and the bad guys are. The other problem it that it place the determination of what is a forcible felony in the hands of someone likely unqualified to make that call (non-lawyer)
I'd be interested to hear in what manner folks like to carry. I know I'm a fan of AIWB, but lately I've grown fond of my Maxpedition versapack. And yes, it is a purse.
I took some tactical training awhile back. One of the secenerios, was walking down a sidewalk, going around the corner and seeing a guy on his knees pleading for his life. The person above him had a pistol, and was obviously agitated, and screaming at the guy on his knees. DO YOU WANT TO DIE! DO YOU WANT TO DIE!
Now, what do you do as a good samaritan? Draw your weapon, and shoot the guy holding the gun?
As this was an action type of drill, about half pulled their blue gun and would have shot the guy holding the gun.
What we didn't know, there was a dead guy on the other side of a bush that the guy on his knees had just stabbed in a robbery attempt, and his buddy finally got to draw his CCW and hold the robber.
Not all is as it seems in some situations.
in a leather case that looks like a Bible cover. With a spare mag. Alleluia.
That is a good one.
Most say and teach dont pull your gun unless you are going to use it. I understand the lesson. However just because you pulled it do you now have to shoot it?
I dont think so. In this case pulling the gun but not firing it until some eval and verification of what is going on maybe? you couldnt walk up and ask hey what are you guy's doing with out protecting your self first.
I'm interested in what the instructor said.
Please inlighten us.
Only time I cant carry on me is in the building at work. Technically they say no firearms on the premises, so I NEVER HAVE A GUN IN MY CAR....EVER...but hypothetically if I were to work at a place that didnt allow firearms Id carry a knife, kubaton, knuckles of some kind...and have at least one gun in the car with a spare reload handy and at least 100 rounds in the trunk...hypothetically speaking...
