Man if you want to master the art of the trigger pull on a pistol you owe it to yourself to go take TDSA's Advanced Combat Pistol class. It's not st all about combat it is all about working and reworking the fundamentals of grip, stance, trigger manipulation, draws and reloads. The class is good for a beginner to any level. Lots of forum members have taken the class and will Echo my recommendation.Brando said:I know I'm new, but though this was a nice place to start. I've committed myself to getting better with my handguns this past year. Upgraded to a Springfield Range Office Operator 1911 9mm to go with my glock 19 and CZ (all 9mm). I try to shoot at least one day a week at an indoor range and expend around 250 rounds on a good day and 100 rounds minimum. It's practice using information and techniques from people better than I. Youtube may be a fools paradise but it has it's pluses.
Started at 5 yards and have moved out to 20 and doing very well. Still work to be done but that's the fun of it.
Number of rounds is a great watermark for practice as well as what you do with the number you shoot. I figure in the last 10 months I have shot about 3,000 rounds of 9mm on the low end and without being to high or too low. Much less on my AR and AK because of weather/wind but I do try to go out and shoot them at least once a month.
The reason I use 100 is because if I'm struggling on trigger pull or sight picture and can't figure it out pretty quick, I'm just practicing a bad habit if I just keep doing the same thing round after round.
I do the same thing with golf. I ask for help or figure it out and don't just keep hitting balls wrong.
I think I made my first mistake with too long of a post.
My bad
I think that's a great idea. Have been trying to make some time to do something along these lines.Jesse Tischauser said:Man if you want to master the art of the trigger pull on a pistol you owe it to yourself to go take TDSA's Advanced Combat Pistol class.
