The shoot house is brand new. The 100 was for shooting it. "repairs"
I heard about that!Brandon Deem said:The shoot house is brand new. The 100 was for shooting it. "repairs"
I was thinking about this the other day. I have never heard of a $$$ penalty for repairs. Did the match rules mention a $$ penalty?Brandon Deem said:Took my first trip to DQ country yesterday.
Aggravated because I timed out on the stage, actually hitting the 75 yard slug steel a fraction after the buzzer. Went to unload the shotgun, counted the rounds wrong and didn't see the last one go into the chamber, was also confused why the bolt didn't lock back. I had several malfunctions with it earlier in the day and figured it was just another. Thought well the bolt will lock back if the hammer is down. ( of course all this thinking was in a fraction of a second) Click the trigger and BANG! Slug through the wall of the shoot house where it met the ceiling. $100 fine for shooting the structure and match DQ. Full ND, no A about it. Luckily no one got hurt and it was the last stage of the match. 4th match to ever shoot.
I put a hole above the tire.

Kind of like the rule at the Bar. Knock a ball off the table, you buy a round for the house.Brandon Deem said:I never saw the match rules, but a disclaimer was included by the RO in the stage overview. Shoot the prop, pay.
This is a kind of a std. rule at most places......you break it, you buy it.I never saw the match rules, but a disclaimer was included by the RO in the stage overview. Shoot the prop, pay.

One target left on the stage and I ran my shotgun dry, did a reload and as I was bringing the gun back to my shoulder my middle finger got inside the trigger guard and engaged the trigger. Accidental discharge...DQ.
My trigger finger was extended straight out and pointing down range but instead of the rest of my hand going under the trigger guard and gripping the stock my middle finger went inside it and hit the trigger. Since I didn't engage the safety before the reload, bang! go home!
That was the first and only time I've had that happen, but it's made me more aware of where my hands (and fingers) are when they're not gripping the gun.
Details. Was it for being overly awesome? Cause I get those all the time.toothandnail said:7+ years shooting competition
