You can always ask for donations for year one too. I'd give $ to help get it rolling.
This is probably the best idea, maybe we could get some people to donate some things and have a raffle, This way we could at least have a start on a section fund for 2013, I will be in contact with the club reps to see how they feel and ideas for 2014.

Raffles are illegal in OK. So you can collect donations then out of kindness say thanks by doing a giveaway afterward.

Might talk to uncle Phil about donations and such as USPSA is a non profit organization. If you start taking donations could the section setup a Paypal so we can donate to it?

If a class happens I'm very interested. I'd also have no problem paying an extra buck to have more quality ROs available. Are the ROs at club match usually certified or just experienced and willing shooters?

We just had a class here at Millcreek Rifle and Pistol club in Desoto KS. I did not coordinate the event, but I put some pressure on the right folks to get one. Our instructor was Troy McManus and I can send you his e-mail address if you want to contact him directly.

The impression that I got from Troy is that USPSA is trying very hard to conduct as many RO classes as possible to build as deep a talent pool as they can.

We had 20 students at a cost of $60 per. I am not certain what the club or section kicked in.

Contact me if you want more details.

It would probably be good to get another one going in OK if they could get 20 people committed?

Well, I guess it's how you word it right?
The Pay-Pal thing I would have to check into, I'm not that familiar with how it's set up.
Tom from the post above said they had 20 people at $60, thats $1200 for a class, now how many people are willing to pay up front (refundable if the class does not fill) to try and get a RO class going?
I would say 20 paid would be the minimum before we could get this thing going

We always get a lot of interest. Im always one of them. Both times I couldn't attend for one reason or another.

If the section had funds and didn't have to rely on prepay or commitments it could host it annually at dates given well in advance and people could make plans.

Rob,
Can you set this up for Pistol & Multi Gun Certification?
I'm interested

If you do the RO course, after a year being certified, you can take a correspondence MG certification that is the same certification as a class setting. Just FYI.

Last time I heard about a Multi gun class was right before nationals then you got to RO the match too.

Ill prepay to help the cause and hope its not in March or April. Seems like most classes are early in the year when all the big matches are going nuts.

Fall sounds nice since there ain't nothing to shoot.

I'd pay in advance if I knew the date and knew I was free. Is it one or two day, or sometimes done either way.

I would think the best time would be November if we can get enough solid comments. I hope everyone gets the word out so we can totally support this class plus put some back for next year

There is a weekend in November between muzzle loader and rifle season. Just a thought.
