How did the guys do in Georgia?

They seem kinda slow. :sarcastichand:

All the guys in the top 25 or so are completely capable of demolishing any given stage. The thing about the top couple guys...consistency.

To quote Romeo (Cheech Marin) in Tin Cup, "Then do it. Quit f#â'¬king around."

So when you guys are actually shooting, do Horner, Garcia and Butler seem unbelievable? They are always top 3. Is it something where you can see yourself getting there or even beating them with some more practice and/or a little luck or do they seem totally out of reach?

Not at all. They all make mistakes still just not as many as I do. Its amazing what 10+ years of competing will do for you.

Horner shoots everything in the move which is a big part of why he is fast. On stage two he shot like an asshole (too fast) on 18 round pistol array and ended up having to do a reload. Only guy in the super squad that messed up that bad. His time was still good but it cost him 3 seconds in Garcia and Laker. After two stages Taran, Keith and Kalani were all beating him. The 3rd stage was setup so you could shoot 14 paper Rifke targets from either 3 positions or two positions and moving. Daniel ran through it shooting and caught up to the top 3.

Taran shoots freakin' fast. I'm pretty sure nobody can pull the trigger as fast as he can. Maybe Jerry M. Actually probably Jerry M. Taran's slow while moving. If he would drop 100 pounds he could make Daniel's life a lot harder.

Garcia is pretty well rounded. He's super fast with all 3 guns. He doesn't shoot on the move like Horner does though. He is a bay style shooter. Fast and furious. He probably makes more little mistakes than Horner and Butler. He moves a lot faster than Taran which is why he beats him.

Shooting all of these matches along side these guys and the other top guys I learn a lot about what they do well that I don't. If I have the time and resources behind me I'm gonna have a lot more fun next year for sure.

The prop guns are sponsor provided, and they want to see them on TV. But since prop guns can be notorious for malfunctions etc that unnecessarily cost guys points, they elected to have you shoot them before you start the timer.

Ahh... that makes sense.. Problem avoided !! It was great shooting with you this past weekend...I really learned alot from you guys...hopefully I can apply it in the near future!!

Wow, I'm amazed at how fast everyone is. I have watched a number of Jesse's video, I'll have to watch the event calendar and next time go see it live. 3G Nationals in GA was only 4 hrs from me and I had a place to stay that was'nt to far away. Is anyone going to Park City 3 gun in Ky on Aug 24?

Never heard of it.....

:)

The AR15/Rockcastle Pro-Am is the next match of the Pro-Series and held at the greatest place on earth. Most of us will be there.

Must not be a major match. My friend from Ga wants to go. Just got done checking with the boss an she let me know that's the weekend I have to move my son to college. Thinking about 3gun championships at blue ridge oct 18-20. But didn't know if spectators were allowed. I'll have to look up Rockcastle.

You yahoos are talking about the same match. August 24-26, 2012 is the AR15.com/RockCastle ProAm 3 Gun Championship in Park City or Cave City or whatever city, KY.

Half of this forum will be there along with the other top shooters that haven't found the site yet.

Thats what I said...Booty traps !!!

Man that loose gravel (in the videos) looked potentially disasterous on a couple of those long runs !! LMAO!!

Can this yahoo go as a spectator or is it shooter only? As you can til never been to a major event to watch the big boy's.

Anyone can come watch a match as long as you have eye and ear protection. The ProAm is the best match to come watch too as there is a bunch of cool guns to shoot and some side matches to compete in. Bring some cash as the side matches cost $5-10 per try. The ProAm has the Pro's and Am's shooting simultaneously on different stages so there will be plenty of cool stages to observe.
