Friday at Heartland, they sold ALL of their AR's (75 or do) including the ones in 6.8 that they didn't have ammo for until Friday afternoon.
Their pegs that had been full of mags thru Wednesday were bare on Friday, even tho they'd been marked up Thursday.
I'll support HO by purchasing items I can afford, but I can't afford $50 (much less $89 at Gunworld) for Pmags. Likewise, I can't swallow $600 for 1000 rds if .223, either. But I can't find any ammo at last weeks prices anywhere. Can't even find bullets for reloading.
This run on guns/ammo/mags is unprecedented. Those saying it'll pass have no crystal ball, so this well could forever change the face of gun ownership and shooting in a negative way.
If things stay where they are or, heaven forbid, get worse, then I won't be shooting as many matches as before.
I sure hope that I can buy an AR for $700 next year and .223 for $300 per 1K, but I'm not optimistic. Right now, I'm treating all my AR's, magazines and .223 like gold and I want to hang on to what little I have.
