Come out to the rifle match this Sunday. You can shoot that FS2000.

Big talk for a guy who hasn't shot a match!

Oh look, another shooter selling his FN to buy a Benelli. :) That makes 3 that I know of in the last 2 months.

Not big talk, just having some fun!

Seriously though, what's Benelli got that FN doesn't? Are they that much better for 3 gun, or just better in general?

I won't go into it much since we have beat this topic to death already. The Benelli is simpler, lighter, and PROVEN. Read some of the threads already posted. Why seek an alternative that is supposedly as "as good as" when you can have the original?

You will end up getting whatever you want. Just don't be mad when I say I told you so.

Everyone I have met so far on this forum bar a few bashes FN, I might point out that they are the largest military contractor for firearms, and the inovator of many of the best and newest designs out there. I like benellis, nothing wrong with them, but its seems to be a Ford/Chevy Argument. To each his own I guess but I dont see a reason to bash other manufacturers becasue you dont prefer them.

The SLP's are nowhere near the Benellis as far as practical shotgunning goes. My M1 has had exactly one malfunction in the 1000 rounds I have shot through it. My SLP would not make it through a 30 round shotgun stage without barfing. A buddy and I took 2 of them the FNH a few years ago. Mine went down first with his puking on day 2. They were a good deal when you could get them for $700 or so, now they sell in the $900 range. FNH may make military weapons, but those shotguns are a distant second to Benellis.

A few years back we went on a guided goose hunt. We dug coffin blinds. I think there were 12 guns. The ground was sandy and it was dry and windy enough to be dirty. Out of those 12 guns two were benellis. One pump. Nine various other auto guns were all turned into single shot machines by the grit. The benellis just kept running. Pretty impressive.

Is this a point for or against FNs? I mean, most military contracts are decided by bureaucrats rather than by war fighters.....

Nobody's really bashing FN, they're just saying that the SLP isn't up to par with Benelli's.
