I second Eric on carrying a separate light. My work needs one for checking things, so it gets drawn a lot more than my CC does. Currently I am looking at the new Shurefire compacts with the 180+ lumens, because most of the other compact lights don't give enough light to see the bottom of a 20' deep Drainage Inlet in the daytime. Near side, front pocket with the wallet is where it lives.
I found this little Jem at a local gun show. Olight S10 (older model). https://olightworld.com/store/specialty/every-day-carry/s10c-baton.html

I really like it because it is not much bigger than the CR123 and the one I have puts out ~450 Lumens. The only down side is that on bright, it does get HOT if it is on too long.

This is microstream number three. Hopefully my little modification will keep it in my pocket better.

Just picked up a Streamlight Protac 1L for my dad. I might have to keep this one. Sorry, dad

Single AAA 35 lumens.
It seems brighter though. I've had it side by side with an older model surefire 60 lumen I have, and they look similar.
I do like the common battery type. 123's are expensive but they are strong.

I want something around 200 lumens

I'm still a fan of the microstream.
I decided that I wanted a small pocket flashlight, so off to Cabelas I go.

I looked at the Streamlight microstream because I always want to be like Rigsby (nice). But ultimately I ended up with a Streamlight Protac 1AAA. 70 lumens, single AAA battery, pocket clip and just a little less than 1/2" longer than the microstream.

Shown with Benchmark Griptillion for scale.

Here's the light I carry: Coast HP3R 245 Lumen rechargeable. Uses 2 AAA batteries or Lithium rechargeable battery. Plugs into USB to recharge.

I will have to look into the protac. I've had my microstream for almost a year, its days have to be numbered.
