The Greenville Gunfighters of the Greenville Gun Club offer SASS cowboy action shooting on the 4th Sunday of each month, and Wild Bunch Action Shooting on the 5th Sunday (in months with five Sundays like April of 2012). Here is a link to the Greenville Gunfighters website with more information:http://sites.google.com/site/greenvillegunfighters/home
We will not have our regular 4th Sunday match in March of 2012 since the Greenville Gun Club is preparing to host the South Carolina State Championship cowboy action shooting match beginning on Thursday March 29 through Sunday April 1.
If you've never seen a cowboy match this will be a good one to watch. We have 163 shooters registered as of today and it's a good chance to come out and see what cowboy shooting is all about. If you've heard that cowboys shoot only shoot pipsqueak handloads, look for the guys and girls shooting "Frontier Cartridge".
Thursday features "side matches" including a four stage Wild Bunch match. In Wild Bunch we use a .45 1911 instead of single action revolvers (plus a rifle and shotgun). Wild Bunch features higher power factors, longer ranges and lots of reactive targets. No pasting holes in cardboard.
Come see us.
