What I think the lure and intrigue is with tacos, is that you get to explore your community, face danger, peril, take risks, and have a goofy story that makes one both envious and hungry.
Tacos Don is like 2 minutes from my house. Not sure what that says about my neighborhood.

Sorry I know this is the new taco sales place and I promise if I get that way I will try them but when your son ask you to stop loading ammo and go play army guys with him I had to stop and bring back my youth.

I don't doubt your culinary excellence and experience with south of the border cuisine. I would love to try your tacos and Spanish rice, I really would! I, for instance, just happen to make the best tamales ever, in my opinion. A taco just isn't a taco, it's an experience.
P.S. I've been to Hugo's twice in the last two days. I got shut out of Tacis Don Nacho last night. As I got there, they were closing.
Long live the taco escapades!
Yes, I'm certainly jealous of the taco place options you guys have. There's one place in town I get breakfast burritos from and heard they are doing lunch now too. Carry out only. Going to have to check out their lunch offerings. I've made tamales several times but they aren't consistent nor something I'd brag about. Would welcome your recipe if you have it in a format that's easy to share.

Nice!!! I envy you! Going to have to go fishing soon. How do you cook them?
Fillet em up, cut the fillets into nuggets. Bread them in a cornmeal breading my mom makes and fry em up with hush puppies. Add coleslaw, lemon/tartar sauce to taste and enjoy!

It was totally unprompted and a bit weird, but Leila drew this picture last night and it seems to fit right in with this thread.

OMG! It's Edvard Munch and Creech Marin all rolled into one! Awesome!!!
