I picked up my SS media from the group buy today and assembled my harbor freight cement mixer. If you purchase the large harbor freight mixer do yourself a favor and throw the instructions away on the way to the fridge for beer, assembly will proceed much better.

I mixed the components using basic guidelines and let her run for an hour. This soapy mess was the result.

Upon rinsing the cases well and separating the media using my rotary separator I was rewarded with very clean 40 cases.

A separate run yielded clean 308.

I can clean 900 40 cases or 360 308 cases right now with my 10 lbs. of media. There is room for a lot more in the mixer, just looking at it I may be able to do 2,500 40 cases, 1,500 or so 223, and maybe 750 308. This method is very cool, a little more of a pain in the butt but it cleans lots of cases very quickly.

I need more media though. :)

So, you've got about $300 bucks or so in this?

$250ish right now. By the time I have the media I want I'll have $325-350 in it.

Seems expensive I know, but I just killed my 4th Lyman 2500 and was either going to buy the larger Dillon tumbler or this.

I like the never needing to replenish the media, the capacity, and the lack of dust.

Hmm. I was going to build one like the one posted up on Enos that uses 5 or 6" PVC pipe for a tank. Now I'm unsure. How much media do you think you need for a full load?

With the other one you can buy the motor, bearings, and everything for about $100. A little work with a chop saw and a welder and you're in business. But this seems like it might be the ticket. One could do a year's brass brass in about 4 loads.

Pretty cool idea, glad to see it works. I have a 5 gallon bucket of 40s&w an 9mm I need you to clean, lol...

I really think I could run 30 lbs. each of media/brass.

I have been running about 2 lbs of media to about 5 lbs of brass. I'm actually surprised how clean the brass comes out. It doesn't look like enough media, but it seems to get the job done. I don't know if you need a 1:1 ratio of brass to media. 30 lbs is going to be a big cost.

What about adding some kind of ribs on the inside of the drum for agitation? Like the ones in a washin machine?

Holy snickies batman that is awesome!! OVer the top? YES but awesome nonetheless. I know where I am bring my brass from now on.
