Bianchi Cup

I think more people would participate if there were local matches or formal practice sessions with movers and barricades.

I agree. It is a great match to go shoot though even if it's only once a year.

Mover Just needs to be on a track system---Moves 60ft in 6 seconds. Has to be able to move left to right and right to left. We use the NRA AP1 targets.

I care. I even have a bianchi subforum. Of course that's if you shoot a revolver at bianchi.

Hats off to you wheel gunners. I dont know how you can work the trigger fast enough on Barricade at 35yards Left side 😃. I can barely do it with my 3.5# pull on my auto.

Going well.....I've been "dark" for about 3 weeks and it's been hard...want to go shoot a match so bad lol!!! The mover has been extremely challenging at 25 yards for me :( but I'm Atleast in the last ring. Keep shooting low for whatever reason....center...but still low...driving me crazy!

In the ring is good at 25 on the mover! How's your 50yrd line on the practical? Are you going to stand or go prone? I stood last year because I couldn't shoot any better when I went prone in practice. That sight picture sure is picky at the 50 😃. I'm leaning towards prone this year. I found a way to belly flop and end up on my right side a little instead of straight on.

Yes that sight pic at 50 is super tricky----in the rings at all is good for me lol :)
Haven't decided which way to go yet? I'm not even sure what most do? On the barricades do you use them for support or are you shooting free handed? I don't have any fancy mounts to plop up against the barricade and I'm not really sure how to or what is the best method? I'm use to shooting free handed but this is going to be exhausting and I don't want to get too tired. Any advice would be helpful :) I've been working on the plates quite a bit.......started with really small ones and moved up to the standard size--makes it easier to hit now! First plate seems to be my nemesis at times...grrr!! I've been practicing every weekend and can really tell a difference now. When I start going down hill....I know I'm getting tired....I usually start around 10 or so and go until 4....which is a long time but I have breaks and things in between so it's not straight through...none the less still exhausting!

Wow you are putting in the practice time! I'm doing two 1 1/2 hour sessions a week. Most people do go prone on the 50 and also the 20 and 25yd line on the plates. I would rather take the extra time to slowly squeeze off my first shot on the first plate to guarantee a hit.

On the Barricade I use the barricade at every distance. I extend pretty far past the wall and "anchor" just behind the bend in my wrist on my arm. You get cool red stripes- but that's better than bloody knuckles. Left side is the same with right arm touching just behind wrist. You have to start pretty close to walk and really lean out on that left side.

Also on that I try to draw and get set up as fast as humanly possible on barricade. I need every millisecond on that left side.

Thanks for the info I will be sure to get some good practice in with this as well. I've been practicing my draw to try and get up as fast as possible. Yes I've been putting quite a bit of time in for it, but I'm sure I'm a long way from you still!! I'm just hoping that I don't come in last :) This training has not been very easy----especially when you get out at distance! It's definitely challenging and it's nice to see so many pro's of many shooting sports doing it! My mom is coming with me so I don't have to drive by myself and she will be my caddy and camera person lol!! She will have a blast...and is super chatty :)

I bet you place pretty high. As far as bringing your mom- that's a good move. There's plenty of down time especially on the days you only shoot one event. I don't know if you are staying at the match hotel, but there is a big mall across the street and plenty to do in the area. It's a blast!

Ya we are staying at the match hotel and that's great that there is a mall close by :)
I'm doing the class in Monday and probably will go practice again on Tuesday morning at the range before we start Wednesday. Please come say hi :)

I have 24 days until I leave ;)...................yikes.....only 3 weekends of good training left.........OMG

Well this weekend was a bust for practice :(
.......................On the bright side I'm now a Shotgun Instructor :)
This week I'm going to Chrono some more rounds and double check everything. Hope to hit the range a couple times this week since I'll be tied up all day Saturday with Women on Target...........Sunday seems to be my only day to really practice on the mover again for this week. Hard to get everything done being spread so thin! Hope your doing well Steve!!

Sounds like you've been busy. Don't worry I bet that pro clinic you are taking right before the match will polish your skills and inspire confidence which I think is everything in this sport.
On another note- another WINDY day of practice for me. I am so tired of chasing a moving flopping target stand 😡. I swear if it's windy at the Cup I will have an instant advantage since that's the only way I've practiced lately. Just shooting off of a Barricade that's bolted down will help your score quite a bitðŸ'ðŸ'
