The barrel is 16". The suppressor reflexes back over the barrel about 2.5" so the suppressor adds about 4.9" to the length to the whole deal. (those measurements provided via AAC, the suppressor maker, I'm going to measure myself later.)
So yeah it probably looks about the same length as a 21" barrel with a 12" rail would. That's why a 12.5" SBR and 9" rail is in the future.

Why? The finished side is towards me when raised, so I thought that was the correct way.

It doesnt hurt the function but you will get made fun of. One guy last week said he liked them backwards so he could look at the Magpul logos. Lol. Looking at the Magpul logo instead of the sights, that's real smart.

I thought you were going to give me grief about the fact that by putting the opening forward, I opened myself to getting a wire or a small branch caught there. It was the only thing I could think of that was truely different, I don't think that the extra 1/2" of sight radius was all that important.
