AR build help

Another thing I considered today is legal issues. Since the lower was a private sale from a friend to me what legal issues do I need to know/worry about. I don't want to spend the better part of a couple months salary building this thing for the lawman to come take it away from me. With the current political climate I want to cover all the bases.

At the moment you come under the quote ( gun show loophole status). You bought it and it is yours. Just like you bought a handgun or shotgun from a friend or were given one by a relative. As long as it is semi auto and is not hot. If you cap someone and disappear off the radar your friend may have some explaining to do. But I am by know means an expert on this. You can always call the ATF.

If they come for your gun they're coming for all of ours too and it will be civil war.

If your legal to own a gun there is no need to do anything else.

Well hell, I finally got through to rock river arms that to ask about there barrels. Their sales rep told me they have no feed ramps on their barrel extensions. Since I don't have access to a mill our the extra cash in the budget for machining I need a recommendation for a good barrel. Looking for 18in, .223 wylde perferred or 5.56. Heavy stainless, threaded.

Yeah I am going to have to send home a message and see when he is expecting them back in stock. I locked at rock river because it came with a gas black and barrel nut for 300 but of I have to get feed ramps cut that is probably another hundred plus to a gun smith with a machine shop.

they're on order, just waiting on Nordic to make some more

As far as RR goes, I'd talk to someone in tech support. It sounds like the salesman you talked to may not know what he's talking about. I don't know how they could have a barrel extension without any feed ramps.

He may have been trying to say it doesn't have M4 cuts.

No, they've been on B/O for a while now.
Nordic is super busy trying to keep up with all the craziness going on.
I think they're pretty much running at full capacity on their current equiptment.

Is anyone familiar with white oak armament? Brownells has one of their barrels: 18in, rifle gas, 1/7 twist stainless.

WOA makes great barrels. That sounds like their SPR barrel, might be kind of heavy, but should be a tackdriver.

For the money this is a steal. Crazy accurate barrel that shot sub moa on it's first outing. I picked one up after ordering a lite version with fluting from BHW because they have a 3+ month wait. It's what they call their "standard" profile, .88 to .73 so it's just a tad larger than an traditional SPR, but under a heavy. In stock, affordable and fit's your wish list. Received mine in 5 days.

I've heard nothing but great things about them. If it fits the specs you want, I'd go for it.

I like the feedbacks on the Grendel, I was thinking about doing a build on one. It's really tempting to have something you can shoot from one zip code to another. Problem is can I afford a scope that can do it.

Just strap a telescope on there. You can always draw the crosshairs on the lens with a sharpie.
