another school shooting

Oh look, a school shooting in a state where guns are almost outlawed. See how well that ban is working out for you guys in Kommiefornia.

The Media will spin this so it will add to the AR ban. I can hear it now, we are so lucky this was not an AR rifle and our state already has a mag restriction or many more students would have been killed.

Hopefully the injured student survives. The thing the media doesn't report is that there were 30 school related shootings DURING the first AWB and, obviously, none of them were stopped by the ban. Gun bans don't, won't nor can't stop crazy. If mentally ill patients in protective lock down in hospitals or prisons, where every conceivable method of doing so has been removed, can still find ways to injure or kill themselves how do we expect to stop them living openly in society?

I feel the same way, but the interview by Law Enforcement I listened to said the shooter had specific targets in mind. He shot one, and missed the other. He was then talked out of his gun by two adults while students evacuated the classroom area. Takes a pretty brave person to confront an armed shooter while unarmed.

He carried the shotgun into the school and was seen by somebody outside who called 911. The shooting was done and over by the time LEO arrived.

So now we have the same issue. Should teachers be allowed to carry in the classroom, or armed guards in every school.

One armed guard cannot guard every entrance/exit. There are certain times when nature calls, and they have to take care of business, which requires them to be away from the sole entrance, if there is one.

If there are multiple buildings on the campus, how would the guard cover it all?

The only answer I can see is allowing the teachers to carry.

I can't understand the opposition to having teachers carry or having armed guards in elementary school, or even in high schools.

For Gods sake, every college in the US has its own Campus Police.

Why is it ok to protect our college kids, and not our elementary school children?

I dont get the opposition either. Any of these people ever hear the phrase "children are our greatest assests"? Then why are they not guarded like a bank? They have armed guards, why not schools? These gun free zones are a joke too.

Now I read this: "An armed police officer is normally assigned to Taft Union High School but was not able to make it to work on Thursday because of snow on the roads, Youngblood said."
I rest my case.

It sure is a good thing that the media immediately pick up stories like this and blast them everywhere, thus guaranteeing instant fame and notoriety for people who go on shooting sprees!
I've been saying this for years. Werd...

Hey PG are you off your meds? That is the second thing in 2 days that you have said that I agree with. :good:

Even with all of California's hard core gun laws this elephant dung still happens. Just further proof the draconian laws they're wanting to enact wont work.

The LE community needs to quit holding freaking press conferences, they never give details of the "alleged" crime anyway. They could just issue a single press release the day after and be done with it. If the media knew they weren't getting a single word maybe they'd go find their news elsewhere.

The post event report... the scroll under the loop fed video ran this amazing fact. The MadMan had "20 cartridges in his POCKETS"... look for a ban to outlaw pockets... or at least limit capacity and add bullet button snaps in California soon.
